I just called aaron's auto and they quoted me 995 for an unknown mileage ej22t and 795 for a manual trans!!
that seems really high. to those who bought their engine, what did you pay? Im trying to start sourcing parts for a ej22t/5mt swap.

I would check out http://car-part.com/ go there and type in what part you need and your state and it will come up with a bunch of junkyards in your area with the part you need and the price.

There is a huge range of prices for longblocks, but the one thing that is for sure is that prices are rising. A month ago, in two different instances, here in Colorado EJ22T's went for less than $500 ( I got one of them for $175, but I won't go into what I am finding on this 200k mi engine now that I am cracking it open :x ). I currently know of three complete turbo longblocks with various mileage for between $1000 and $1500, but unlike my junkyatrd engine, they are known to be running. If you contatc a rebuilder like CCR, they will quote you $1500-2100 for an EJ22T that has been rebuilt. The days of a $500 swap are passing quickly as this engine becomes popular with Impreza guys looking to swap it in for cheap and easy power. The next wave of this will be what Ciper recommends as the cheapest route to a swap: get a poorly running complete Legacy turbo car and pull the swap and fix the problems in the process. It is all an issue of supply and demand., and the demand has gone way up in the last six months...

too true, ej22t talk all over nasioc.com and others. aarons auto in seattle where I called said they are bidding on a rear ended 5mt SS(!) but when I asked where they were bidding on it they just laughed.
That is pretty much my dream parts car... get the seats, rear diff if it was ok, tranny, motor, hood, etc. etc.

I paid $760 for mine with turbo. 83k mi and perfect internals. Had to drive 3 hrs to get it. There was another around here for $500, no turbo attached, but with shipping across country it wouldn't save you any money. If I had the extra money I'd pick it up and leave it in the kitchen to resell.

I got mine from someone on that car-part website for $550 plus shipping. It had 87k on it and comes with a 6 month warranty. Now I have to figure out what to do with my old one. The lower rod bearing went on it.......

How much do you want for it? I can always use another engine in the garage.

Hey Bobby, like I said last time I saw you, figure out what you want for it and I will take it off of your hands.
