Looking for different hosting providers

I need a different hoster for my site. The current company is ok.....but the size they're giving me is only 50mb.....and the real issue is I continue to get spam through their server....which pisses me off.....even though I have my personal server setup as the primary mail server......so it just means the spam is being sent by users on their network.

I think I'd like at least 100mb.....I don't use a lot of bandwidth....and the fancy scmancy stuff isn't overly important.....I wouldn't mind having front page extensions, but I can do solely ftp. it'd be nice to have an ip.....but a lot of places don't even offer that option any more.

THAWA told me about the hosting he uses, and it looked really nice. 2GB, 30GB/mos all for just over $100/year.

www.surpasshosting.com They are really good. Depending on which server they put you on you might never have any downtime. I'm on dios or something and I've only been down 2-3 times I think since jan and those were like 5-15 mins at the most, others have more reliablity. So far no dns problems either. Only thing I don't like about them is the lack of an FTP quota system.

wow....looks pretty good. That's right around what I'm paying now for WAY more space and transfer limits.

I'm assuming they're on good network lines....nice and fast.

I dunno, I was told this by someone I know, I can ask him when I see him next, but he's been using them for a while.

I usually get between 150-200kbps when I dowwnload something from my site.

I've been using JacuarPC for my hosting. Don't have a site on it, but all my pictures come up fast, and they gave me hella storage.

The price was very reasonable, too.!

Their dedicated Gigadeal is NICE. As low as $8/mo if you pay ahead. ;)

Jaguar looks pretty good.....got a lot more info on their site....at least the stuff I'm looking for, plus pricing is good too.

I'll shoot them an email and see what response I get back. I haven't heard anything from surpass eventhough i've emailed them yesterday. They're not working on too good a first impression. We'll see.

Rackspace.com looks like a little overkill for what I'm looking for....

thanks guys...keep the suggestions coming.

josh if you haven't chosen anything yet surpass just increased the bandwidth and storage space, you can now get the same thing I was getting for half the price! :D My bandwidth and space have increased by 250% but stayed the same price, that's a deal and a half if you ask me.

already signed up with jaguar.......so far everything seems good.....I'm having issues with mx records.....but I had the same issue on my old hosting provider.....I think it's just something I will have to live with for linux hosting providers.
