Well, at least they didn't use the turbo engines....

Seriously, all of that work, and not even 100mph? Man, that's like doing a Honda engine swap to gain a whole 6whp.

Actually, it's an engine swap to gain over 50% more power. The stock engines in those Vanagons made something like 80 horsepower. And their torque curves sucked too. And they weren't so reliable...

Yeah...

They talk on one of the pages of that web site about how you shuold build a wooden stand for the engine so you can remove the engine from the vehicle to change cambelts... The fact that you have to pull the engine for that work says something about how much the engine likes being in the vehicle!
