That is the absolute worst pipe you can get, only slightly better than stock.

Again, it depends on how much you're willing to spend.
I honestly never had a problem with it. No crazy overboost/spikes, like people say happens with a non-divorced or non-bellmouth. As for power, I may have realized a power gain (maybe 5-10hp), but the car was plenty fast for me. Take that statement for what it's worth *shrug*
If I had the choice, I would've gone with a divorced/bellmouth wastegate, but considering I already had the HKS unit and it gave me no problems, I would've spent the money on something else that would've given me a better power gain (like some larger injectors).

I have to say, there was a LITTLE boost creep, but in full 4th gear pulls I wouldn't ever see the boost fluctuate more than .01-.02 bar. Significant? Perhaps. Perhaps not. *shrug*

Well, let's note that all factory Subaru turbos use this type of flange, including the STi.
It's still catless, mandrel bent, and 90mm wide, so it will flow significantly better than stock. And it's cheap new, and even cheaper used.
Matt Monson tried a PDM downpipe meant for a WRX and found it two inches too long:

It stands to reason that the HKS downpipe would also be a bit too long, so it would require modification to the midpipe to fit.

look on ebay, you can get good bellmouthed downpipes for $150 same price as the hks unit, but stainless mandrel bent 3" steel.
