please no bogus results or flaming, i am genuinely interested in what these things are capable of.
my best to date is a 13.79 @ 98.6mph, however I have lost the timeslip. so I ran it again on saturday just passed and have some times for you guys.
60ft - 2.037
330ft - 5.796
660ft - 8.917 @ 79.17 MPH
1000ft - 11.571
E.T. 13.839 @ 99.23 MPH at 18 degrees celsius
was done with spike to 14psi tapering off to 12psi by redline (7000 rpm) 3" turbo back exhaust, pod filter, MRT inlet plenum, lightened flywheel, heavy duty clutch (slipping in 1st, hence the bad 60ft time) water/air cooler, STi ratios on 1st and 2nd, VF12 turbo. it was a 7000rpm launch, clutch dump.

Didn't I just post a thread like this in Motorsports forum?

Anyway .... for me ..... 13.4 @ 108 spinning a bit in first with just intake, DP, and cat-back.

r0gu3 - How did you manage a 13.4 with just a DP - catback, and intake.
Cause i mean thats a pretty good jump from 16.2 for a stock touring wagon to 13.4 with just those mods. Have you upped the boost at all, any ECU mods?
Thanks,
Mark

Oppps, I forgot I was talking about my RX-7.
I am hoping to get some stock times for my Legacy once I get some time away from work. Then I am going to add IC and open up the exhaust a bit.

I got 15.3 @ 88mph last sunday, at 9psi boost.
did better after with 10psi boost, but couldn't get the time (it was a 5$ illimited races day, no time... )
at 11psi, it got worst as i could feel the ecu playing with timing :\

Morgie!! Mods!! Now!!

I mean, if you could please list your mods, thank you, have a nice day.
My best to date is 15.7 @ 86.X - I'll get more specific when I grab my slip out of the car.
Exedy Flywheel, Heavy duty clutch w/ kevlar disk, K&N air-filter, full tank... the rest stock!
I blip repeatedly then rev to around 5500-6000 and slip that kevlar like a beast. 2.10x 60' is my best.

Mods, hummm let me remember.. hehe
TurboSmart manual boost controler
Home Made controler, used to lean the A/F ratio a little (running 1560°F EGT)
3" straight downpipe + midpipe , 2.5" resonator + 2.5" straight muffler
255l/h fuel pump (like if that does a difference .... for now...

)
K&N Filter
1/2 tank
MultiBox removed (in the trunk) but spare still in place (there is a lot of junk in my multibox.. haha )
16" RS 2000 Wheels.
ah and the biggest mod, it was about 15°C outside
stock clutch, stock everything else.
i use the same strategy as yours for launchs 4000rpm then slip a bit the clutch to avoid the engine from dying.
on a previous drag day (1/8mile), i did a 2.104s 60ft with 0.602 reaction time.

Off topic but what does it feel like when the ecu plays with timing? I may be experiencing this.

i was feeling something like a "per second power osciation" ..
pulls hard
pulls less hard
pulls hard
pulls less hard
1/2 to 1 secon per change.... i guess it's something like timing oscillation based on knock correction.. hehe Vrg3 may confirm

sounds like you are experiencing "surging" its caused by using a bleed valve in conjunction with the factory boost controller.
ran again the other day did a 14flat on 13psi, will run again when i put my chip in

factory boost controler completely disabled (no hoses goes / comes to it).

60ft - 1.985
330ft - 6.254
660ft - 9.767 @ 70.48 MPH
1000ft - 12.754
1320ft - 15.306 @ 88.25 MPH
was about 85 degrees fahrenheit and I had a boost leak.

Andy, is your car EJ20t DOHC or EJ22t SOHC? looking at those times it must be a EJ20t you should be able to run 16psi without problems with that turbo.

I have the EJ22T. I've been experimenting with more boost and it acts like it will handle it. After many runs with 17psi, I didn't hear any kind of knock or ping and my intercooler was as cool as can be. I don't have any guages to measure a/f ratios and gas temps though, so I'm not going to keep it up there.
I made the diy fcd and it works, but it feels like it's not getting enough fuel when the rpms get past 4000. If I only partial throttle it, it pulls fine. I'm thinking it doing what you and morgie were talking about, so I'm not using the fcd anymore. Back to 10 pounds it is.

went at the track today again... nothing changed on the car, running 9-10psi, 20-21°C...
60ft : 2.085
1/8 9.656
1/4 15.24
88.19 mph
not so bad ...
here's the proof

(dont look at my reaction time, i got distracted hehhe , usualy i do .600-.700s)

Do your reaction times matter? Doesnt make any difference if you go on the lights or after, just dont go b4 and alls good.
My best is 15.005 @ 95.7mph with a 60ft of 2.1. Way below what it should be capable of but theres something holding it back, bloody autos.
The car is a 96' GT Legacy Twin Turbo with 2.5 turbo back zorst , k&n pod filter and a unichip running 143kws at the wheels, so somethings wrong but hopefully ill figure out what sooner or later.

Reaction times don't matter for the numbers, just winning.

I'm racing real 1/4 mile drags for my first time this saturday and was wondering, can any of you give me any pointers? Should I redline every gear or shift at about 5800 rpm or what? I'm a little worried about staging, is it hard to keep your revs up while staging? Any advice would be cool, thanks
