Rigoli just ran an 8.881 @ 154mph last month...they've been the kings of fast Subies for as long as i can remember.

I'd rather drive slow and have fun with a 5spd than fast and fall asleep behind the wheel of an Auto.
Dont forget the Legacy holds the world record for the for the land speed record for Station Wagons. I believe the sedan holds the fastest 24hr speed record and i think i read something on the Forester that holds the speed record for small SUV's or something.
Here's alittle info:

the only way you fall asleep behind an auto is if you're already tired, and you can do that quite well in a manual aswell.

Okay, we've already got enough auto vs. manual threads on this board already, and like this one, they didn't start out as one
I actually believe that the USDM STi is the fastest
factory Subaru ever...

is it faster than the 22B? I don't remember the specs on that one. They did have comparable power, though, and the 22B was lighter.

the early Legacy did hold multiple 24 hr speed endurance records when they were introduced. Friends who owned a dealership had one of the cars there and I have a picture of me in it when I was 13 or so. I look like a total dork, though

I'd have to see some evidence to back that up before I believe. The 2000 STi V6 RA's were rumoured to have in the neighborhood of 340ps stock on a car that is several hundred pounds lighter than the new STi's. I guess I have a project for the afternoon; try and find the answer to this quetion. As I always say, I don't care who is right, I just want to know the right answer. So, if anyone else can come up with some test numbers before me, throw them out there...

the best times I have seen on the usdm sti was 0-60 in 4.5 and quarter at 12.8. i think that is pretty accurate. in a straight line it seems to be faster than a 22b it was 0-60 in 4.9 and 1/4 in 13.4 or there abouts.

Cool, thanks Kelly. I knew they were close, but I wasn't sure.
