Well, after having no roommate allllll semester, they found asbestos in the dorms across campus.

SOOOOOO..... we all got roommates.

All well and good, mine never showed up. But then the school got wise to my situation and I got a new roommate.

Initially, he was pretty cool. Seemed nice, didn't mind the top bunk or anything.

But then, last night, I discovered something scary. He smells like Feet. All the time, my room smells like feet now. It sucks.

He also snores.

But I control the TV, the beer, and a phone call get's me the room to myself for the night (if you catch my drift).

He has an interest in cars, so he doesn't mind if I've got legacy parts on my desk.

I watch mountain bike videos all day, and he doesn't care about that either.

If only he didn't smell like feet.

Is the weather too cold to keep the windows open? That helps some. Also, can you leave your dorm room door propped open? Just getting air moving can help.

What about burning incense or scented candles and stuff?

Yea, I'm burning some Chompa right now. With my door open. It's a bit cold outside to keep the window open (50).

I'm glad my RA is cool with incense.

I bet his feet sweat really bad and they bask in the murkiness that is his shoe all day long. My feet used to stink really bad at the end of a day at work and I started putting some antiperspirant on my feet.

While that did help a bit, what actually helps the most is multiple pairs of shoes.. Never wear the same pair two days in a row. This will allow any of that foot sweat to evaporate and not "build-up" (absorb) in the padding in the shoe.

Just a thought... Then again, finding a way to bring this up in casual conversation may be difficult. I can see it now:

BAC: Dude, your feet reek. Go by some sandals.
RoomMate: Fuck you.
BAC: no seriously. No wonder you don't get any poon, your feet smell like dead the dead asshole of a 40 year old horse
RM: Why are you smelling the assholes of dead horses?
BAC: Fuck you. Go by some sandals.

I bet that is exactly how the conversation would go too.

I'll just open the windows and let the smell waft out in the breeze.

That may not work. If the wind is blowing INTO your dorm room, well.. then you've got foot mixed with incense mixed with frustration: not a good combo.

Of course, you could just get a bazillion of those "odor eaters" things and leave them all around the room. He may get the hint.

Maybe you could buy some odor eaters and then come back to the dorm room and tell him about this awesome new product your friend told you about. You can say you think your feet are smelling up the dorm room and maybe this'll help. Put a pair in each pair of shoes you have, and then offer him the rest since you accidentally bought too many.

I had a pro weight lifter roommate who snored so loud you'd think the walls were getting sucked in like cartoons. He'd cycle to a point where he'd stop breathing for a few seconds and I'd hope it would be permanent every time as I sometimes couldn't get back to sleep before he started going real loud again. That was when I was lucky to have 5 hrs to sleep anyway.

Our apartment also smelled like rodents although we found no evidence of them. Another roommate set the smoke alarm off once spraying air freshner too close to it. My ex refused to stay there long and made me go to her school where I'd have to sneak out as there was a curfew I always missed (Catholic dance school). Like a curfew stopped us from doing it in the chapel or anything...

Be glad that you aren't on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. They woulda made millions of preist jokes by now...

Hell's where the fun people are.

No priests there, just nuns. It was the same school Madonna got kicked out of before going to New York (Marygrove).
