Budget Bolsters.

I have the best mod in the world for all of you.

Save your money and get some bitchin seats.

Pull up the seat cover and cut some seat foam (I used some stuff I had in the basement. 1" thick seat foam, it's not very stiff, which is good. It's the standard for seat cushioning. I used a double layer because I weigh no more than 150.)

Pull the cover down over the foam and re-attach (I used Zip Ties as a temp. attachment).

Voila. Save some money and get some comfy, supportive, seats. The only downside is that the seat now looks pregnant. However, a quick stitch here and there and you can make it look factory (my mom is going to help me with this next weekend since I can't sew worth a damn. I'm not sure how I got the merit badge...).

Since the car still isn't registered, I could only drive it around the neighborhood, but it feels great! Nice, big ass bolsters, and they took 20 minutes to install!

I have the most modded, non-registered Legacy Turbo in the world. :)

Oh, and since I came up with this, I dub it the "BAC Bolster Mod"

or..... for approximately $200, you can have pretty wrx seats that are not only supportive, but attractive, and not ghetto. :)

Mine are far from Ghetto. It was free, and as we all know, if it's for free, it's for me.

They look great and feel better (and will look even more stock when I sew the cover this weekend).

Don't harsh my mellow maaaannnnnn

Mine are height adjustable, and they aren't ghetto. Well, a little ghetto, but it's also 200 times cheaper than yours ;)

Stop turning my thread into a seat selling thread! It was supposed to help people who didn't want to replace their seats just to get a little more support.

i'm just trying to elevate the level of this board so people dont start doing things like this and think electrical tape eyebrows and duct tape in the engine compartment is an okay move.

Hey, my mod works and is cheap. Don't hate. It's not like duck tape in the engine bay or anything.

If I didn't tell you, and you saw my drivers seat, you would never know it wasn't factory. And you'd sit in it and say "damn, Phil is smart as shit"

duct... as in air ducts... that's what the tape was originally made for. :)

at least i dont have to hide my beautiful seats with trashy covers

Actually.....

It was originally dubbed DUCK tape. Used in the military, they needed an all purpose, highly durable and waterproof tape. They called it DUCK tape. Duct tape is an offshoot, similar to calling it Gaffers tape or 100MPH tape and the like.

And there are no trashy covers on my seats. They are the stock covers... As I said, nothing looks different on the seat other than the bolsters being larger. The seats fit better and feel more comfortable than the stock STi seats.

The tape we call duct tape wasn't actually made for ducts. There's another kind of tape for that.

And Duck Tape is a brand of duct tape.

Give the bolster mod a try before you swap the seats.

My seats feel BRAND new, and Jumping from STi seats to mine, my seats feel a lot more snug and just as supportive.

I'd like to see pics.

My seats are toast, and seeing that I weigh under 150 lbs as well.....I don't stay planted in the seat too well.

The WRX seats won't work the way I want them because of the auto seat belts, and would look tacky.

Yea, I can get pics this weekend when I re-do them.

I was going to try to get some 04 WRX seats, but this was cheaper and lets me spend my money on other goodies :)

I must be a house on this board - I weigh just over 160! That's right all you little punks give me your lunch money!

I'd like to see pictures, too, I had a similar idea since I didn't want obviously different seats, but wasn't sure if it would work.
