Hello all,

Haven't posted to this group since the Yahoo days, I bailed because of excessive off-topic posts, and I almost got rid of the car... Glad I didn't! This forum is great, very nicely organized.

I have a 1991 Legacy SS 5MT, Black, originally w/ grey interior, that I bought from Matt Schiccitano, one of the pioneers in modifying these cars, I think his articles & pics are still on Daves Legacy Central, if that comes back...
I got the car w/ the following mods:
-JDM Impreza I/C (the one with the 10 deg. left turn built in) & BOV
-Custom 3" SS downpipe by RalliSpec
-3" sewer pipe exhaust system & hi-flo cat
-Cold-air intake
-Haltech manual boost controller @ 11.5 PSI (via VDO boost gage)
NKG plugs, 8mm wires, etc

Drove the car for almost 2 years, no major problems, but was starting to look kinda shabby, and oil was appearing in the coolant resevoir in more noticeable amounts. I was on the verge of selling it, when, fortuitously, I got whacked by a large truck. This turned out to be a great day, since it was a NYC-owned construction vehicle, the upshot being that after a few months, I got a check for $2300. The damage to the car was on the driver's side, where the lug nuts of the truck had opened up the sheetmetal like a can opener. 2 used doors, 1 new front fender, and some welded patchwork at the rear wheel arch, and she's good as new. Complete paint job in polyurethane, tinted the windows, and I paid for the mods already done and funded a few more! Here's the latest list of goodies:

-WRX rims & Tires
-WRX front brakes
-Goodridge SS brake hose set
-KYB GR-2s
-WRX Front Seats
-WRX td-05 Turbocharger
-SS racing header system for WRX (no cats, fit perfectly, 2 bosses for probes) heatwrapped
-WRX 6-disc CD Stereo (had to change the plug on the car harness)
-STI forged alum. front control arms (fit w/ minor grinding)
-Hella FF driving lamps in place of front signals (relocated to side marker housing)
-Blacked-out all chrome, including tail lamp assembly
-Shaved badges, replaced w/ small STI logo ovals
-ABS reproduction WRX hood scoop (cheap, but try to tell the difference) and cut out sheetmetal for I/C airflow
-Black interior from '93 turbo wagon
-Knock-off MOMO wheel w/ pushbuttons for cruise control operation
-Brullen twin-tip muffler (I HATE ricer coffee cans!!!)
-Rockford-Fosgate speakers all 4 corners

I got the majority of the parts from EBay, the car has become a rolling experiment of WRX upgrades.

Good to be back, look forward to talking to you all!

Cheers.

Sounds great. I'd like to see the details on the Hella FF driving lights.

Now you need to throw a EG33 in that Synchro!

I'll get some pics on as soon as it stops raining.... next week some time, apparently.
re the Syncro: I was seriously considering putting the ej22t in the van at one point.

Curious...
What were the forged front arms originally for?

Control arms are for a new STi... will fit pretty much any Subie based on our car, I just had to grind off about 1/16" off each side of the front bushings to get them to fit into the body mounts. You can order them from Subaru, come complete w/ new ball joints & all bushings. Takes off about 10 lbs each side of unsprung weight... I was looking for ball joints anyway, these were a pretty good deal.
