Balljoint Joy

After having to remove and replace one balljoint 3 times (it was always too small...changed the part 3 times.) Now, the other balljoint's holding bolt head has broken !!!

arrfff

the bolt in the wheel hub that holds the balljoint in it's hole... Head snaped. We drilled a hole in the bolt and tryed a "tourne-gauche" "Screw remover.". but it also broke into the hole...So i'll have to remove caliper to get to the other side, drill the complete bolt out and the threads in the hub, and use a longer bolt with a nut ....

Rust is my friend.

aint rust fun!

dont u just luv how all that winter salt comes back to bite u in the arse  i had to replace the rear hubs on my sons lsi wagon and it was easier to remove the whole setup off our donor car[less cv axles] than trying to break the rusty grip on all the bolts. but it is a lot better having updated parts, 98 as opposed to 94, that are totaly rust free 8)

yeah :(

and something i've learned the hard way : ALWAYS heat the bolts with a powerfull torch, not the little plumber torch....

At least our cars are tougher for the hell they go through up here! Wisdom from experience unlike those spoiled sissy southern cars!
