What irony. When I had my old car I never had anyone roll up on me. Now that I'm totally chillin out, cruising and enjoying the nice weather, I've got Eclipses and wrxs givin me BOV salutes, integras and preludes waving with vtec, and 200sxs blippin throttles at me! It really is annoying after a while :x

It must be Monday. Posted in the wrong forum. Mods, please move. THanks!

Haha, and I remember you complaining about no one bothering you in the 91.

I know!! Now that I have this car, it's craziness!!

I will say this, tho. It's much more interesting (not necessarily more fun, but interesting) to actually have a race with someone, rather than an all out stomping:)

Haha!

Wow, it REALLY must be a monday because I didn't even notice that this was in the wrong forum until now, lol. Damn.

Hehe, that's one of the burdens of having a car with such zoomy styling. You were spoiled by having a sleeper. :)

Zoomy. That's an interesting way to describe the car.

Sorry I missed you yesterday vrg3. I kinda had someone over the night before :P

Believe me. Completely unexpected.

Yea, but the unexpected surprises are always the best. Like a Legacy kicking the crap out of about any sedan out there...

I called you tonight but got your voicemail, did you get my message? Maybe we can meet up tomorrow night or the next?

At least you don't need the clutch in the Celica (or maybe that's just the old ones). I knew a guy who only used the clutch to start off and power shifted his the rest of the time. Did this for years - something I wouldn't risk in a Subaru personally (or I suppose if it were mny Celica either - too much mechanical sympathy).

Power shifting is at least better than flat shifting. I went to school with a guy who would flat-shift EVERY shift.

Blew the whole driveline. It was sad because it was a MkII Supra :(

I don't think I could ever power shift or flat shift to any car.

ditto on the mechanical sympathy, i could never abuse my tranny.... but suspension and tires are a completely different story

what is a "flat-shift"? never heard of that one before

I found out one day I didnt need to clutch in my old civic, I was drivin this hot BTB somewhere and she pulled from 3rd to 4th, I was like O_O This was also the car where I didn't have to depress the clutch pedal in order to start it :\

I thought "power shifting" was shifting using the clutch but with the throttle open during the shift.

What's "flat shifting?"

Is one of those supposed to mean when you shift by matching speeds without using the clutch? I do know old Celicas were really good for that, but I'd imagine the new 6-speed could be very different inside.

Saturn transmissions are good for that too. :)

I was under the impression that they were the same thing.
