4eat Tranny swap, What will fit?

Any help appreciated! I need to replace the 4eat tranny in my 91 Legacy 2wd wagon. How can I find which tranny's are compatable, with minor if any modifications, from other models or years of Subaru's? Thanks!

pretty much any legacy or impreza FWD 4EAT will work for the swap.
I don't know much, but....

I understand that if you get a different year tranny you might want to put in an 'upgraded' TCU in as well, to take advantage of the newer and better systems it might provide.
(If I am way off someone can let me know, since I am about to do a tranny and TCU swap much like the one mentioned)
