Does anyone have any pix of some intercoolers cut in 1/2? Im curious as to what an Intercooler looks like from the inside.

it's just chanels going from side to side. the fins are just to increase surface area for faster heat disapation. just like a heat sink on a computer cpu.

You can look in the inlet of a Saab IC and see what it looks like.

I'd take a picture, but it would be with my camera phone, or you'd have to wait until sunday night.

Awesome, thanks guys. I found an IC from a Volvo and its frikken HUGE!! I was thinking of cutting it in 1/2 and welding the bottom shut. Make it a Top mount or a smaller front mount.

I think i might just go AWIC instead tho.

Yeah, those Volvo intercoolers are awesome. At one point I was thinking of trying to front mount one of them on my car.

I put it up to the front of a '90 Legacy Wagon and it looks like the Volvo cooler is just wide enough to fit where the grill would go, and clear the headlights. It is also long enough to span from the top of the grill to below the bumper.

Would be a huge IC

Much too big for my tastes.
