Here she is: '92 L 5MT AWD 2.2NA.
The scoop: I found the car on eBay (!) on a lazy Saturday afternoon.

The listing had the dealer's phone number which turned out to be close by so 30 minutes later, I was checking the car out: 123K miles, all original, very clean in and out, all power features working, new tires, cold AC.
The seller disclosed the reserve price ($2,950) and the auction would end on Wednesday evening.
I got the VIN report and watched the auction for a couple of days; little activity, it was around $1,700 when I came back on Wednesday afternoon for a test drive: engine is powerful but quiet, brakes are strong, transmission is smooth, shifting is precise.
Ok, so now I want it!
Prepared as I was, I pull out a Kelley Blue Book printout showing a value of $2,500, haggle with the dealer a little and we meet in the middle: $2,725!
I didn't even have all the money. I give him a $500 deposit, sign the paperwork and he ends the auction on the spot.
I go back to work, print some "For Sale" signs and slap on all four sides of my battered '89 Toyota Pickup truck (single cab, 4x4, 5MT, rims, 30" tires, camper, Pioneer stereo and speakers, 180K miles, faded black, no AC, unpainted hood and left fender

).
Next day, Thursday, this hispanic guy who works at my job's warehouse offers me $1,500 for my truck (without even driving it!

). Of course, I take it!.
On Friday (pay day), he gives me the cash, I add my paycheck, go back to the dealer and the rest is history!

Awesome man! Looks nice!
Reminds me of Laurel's Ruby, only in better condition (sorry Laurel, it's true, Ruby had some rust IIRC).
That thing looks VERY clean!
I bought my 94 off of e-bay too. Got her sight unseen. I actually thought the car was green until we got up to CT and picked it up.
Good luck with her man! Take her easy.

Matt,
I'm on the website 24/7 reading every post. but not a post whore, so I lurk.

Haha, ya I know what lurking is, I just wouldn't consider someone with a 400+ post count to be king of the lurkers.

Cool title though.

Heheh, I suppose..
But the amount of time spent on this site would easily have me in the 2000 post range if I was a post whore like Phil or Hardy

Quick, who's ass did you kiss to get that title anyway?
Louie, VERY nice! That is one of the cleaner BF's I've seen, especially the engine. Plus it's the perfect combo: 5spd and AWD

OMG, isn't that the truth!

Ya know, if I'd whored like them I'd be up there with vrg3 and ciper in post count!

The only difference is that I wouldn't consider Ciper or vrg3 whores. They're constantly adding fresh technical information while most of us are whoring it up

I agree, I just mean because I've been here longer then Phil or Harvey my post count would rival vrg3 and ciper.....but I just don't have that much to say I guess.

wtf I'm not a post whore. I provide meaningful information most of the time

Every so often I let loose, but most the time my responses are pertinent. :\

Oh THAWA, come on, it's ok, we love you. Maybe we're just jealous that you could join the bbs a year later then (some of) us and be at double our post count.

That or maybe we should just go ahead and put a red light on your porch!

Nice 92, looks really clean. It could be a close sibling to my 92L 5spd wagon, separated at birth. Looks like yours went to a good home, mine has had a bit more tortured life. Those 2.2s really don't feel too slow with the 5spd, can just barely get out of their own way.

I was just kidding guys. Sarcasm is hard to convey on a bbs

hehe, yeah, I think I had like 500 posts or more when Thawa joined. He quickly surpased that.
No biggy. We just won't let you live it down is all.
