will my exhaust pass inspection?

hey
i have already gotten my car inspected and it failed for a "loud exhaust system" and i was wonder if i got a borber fireball N1 exhaust and put the silencer in would it pass?

Find someone that is interested in home theater. They will own a SPL meter and you could test it. The exhaust cannot be louder than 95db

That depends on where you live Ciper. That's only California law. Other states have much more rigorous tests including, but not limited to, visual inspection. If you state where you're from, you will probably get a more thorough response.

I got a ticket once in my civic for loud exhaust (which it was not loud) but I looked up the law in Rhode Island at the time and it was something like...
measure 20 feet from the tailpipe and take a DB reading.
Like ciper said it should be below a certain level. you have to find out what that level is in your state.
P.S. Judges dont like loud exhausts period. They will make you pay no matter what you show them

Get a Harley if you want loud exhaust. Sissy cops are too scared to pull 'em over no matter how loud they are.

I swear my straight pipe is at least as loud as a harley
