Saturn Driving Impressions

I was out goofing off today and went by the local Saturn dealership. The first car I looked at was a 2001 SC2 coupe. Looked sharp w/ the bright red paint, alloys, and the spoiler on the back. I personally don't see whats soo great about these cars. It only had 40k miles on it and the trans shifted all crappy and I realized how great the boxer sound is....this engine sounded...well...nasal. For $9980 I think I would pass.
The second car was a 2003 Ion Quadcoupe in silver. Not as attention grabbing as the SC2 but still a decent looking car. It took me a few minutes to get used to the CVT--not sure if I like not feeling the transmission shift. The engine seemed to have decent power but with the CVT and center mounted gauges I found it hard to "control" my speed. I was coming off a ramp and the lil son of a gun was cruisin 70 like nothing when the speed limit is 35. Again I missed the boxer sound. With 3300 miles and for $13980, it seemed like a decent buy.
Overall I wasn't that impressed. Both cars lacked the character and charm that my car has. Even though shes got almost 165k miles, door dings, and rust...I wouldn't be able to give it up for anything else.
