Has anyone tried one of these yet, I just installed one today, and I am hoping I can get the same performance as from a K&N. I paid $40 for mine at Wal-Mart, and a K&N would be the same price...

Hmm, I've never even heard of it. Did you drive the car yet? Did you notice any improvement? I'd probably reset the ECU for kicks. I'd be interested to hear if you like it or not after you've had a chance to run it a while.

What makes the FRAM unit desireable over the K&N?

I feel a noticeable difference, even after resettting the ECU. This might also be because I live in a dusty environment, and my old filter was very dirty... If I see a small improvement in the Fuel economy, I will be very happy with it, the performance aspect I don't really care about as much... If I can gain 1-2mpg, that would make me very happy, and my wallet extremely happy...

It looks just like a K&N, and even smells like one too, mainly I bought it because Wal-Mart just got them in, and I wondered if they really worked...

It looks like I have gained 1-2mpg on the highway since installing the filter... I got about 25 mpg on a recent trip...

I have no idea. Probably the same thing as a K&N but you could probably have gotten the K&N cheaper online.

I'll stick with K&N. They've been the standard, and I have no reason to go with FRAM unless they have something to offer over K&N.

I don't think they have that commercial around here.

Haha, ok, I've seen that. That's the one with the twin brothers, one has a big truck and the other a ricer mobile.

I just picked up a Fram AirHog last night. Impulse buy. Would've got a K&N if they had them in stock. I'm sure it'll work just as well.

I think they should be about the same as a k&n. The big thing I saw when I put it in was better intake, turbo, bov noise. If I got a few hp that's cool too.
I sure didn't see any mpg increase because if I can hear the turbo better I play with it more...

I don't get to see any comercials over here and I miss them, even the stupid ones. You would never think about missing something like that untill you don't have it. I do have inet and legacycentral, so it's not that bad.

I failed emissions, changed out the air filter with an Airhog (the old filter was dirty) and PCV valve and passed with flying colors.
