Gee Whiz, leave for one week and everything changes. Looks good though, just a bit shocking.

Got my exhaust. I may put the downpipe to the tail on tonight, we'll see. I can't put the up and crosspipe on until I get an egt or something to plug the hole. It looks totally sweet, though.

sweet man, lets do it right now! (hint hint)

actually wasn't someone running with nothing in the bung just open, or just head down to home depot and buy a bolt to put in there for now or someting :D

I have a bit of jet lag, so to me it is like 8 oclock right now, but I'm willing to go into work late tomarrow, and my boss is cool with it. I'm going to get some dinner and then probably start tearring into my exhaust.

give me an hour to get some dinner. I may need to borrow a breaker bar from my uncle down the street unless you got one. If your busy that's cool too, my brother may help me as well, but if you want to get in on it, that's cool.

Cool, good luck guys. :D

If you're really going to do it tonight, I'd go out right now and spray all the bolts with PB blast. Seriously.

I can't wait to see what you think!

yeah I've got like an 18" bar, it worked fine on my exhaust heatshields, and there's really no need for it on the manifold to head bolts, they come off so easy anyway :D but yeah I'll bring that You need anything else? Some jackstand or something? Did it come with gaskets for everything? Looks like I might be eating in a hour or so, I'll let ya know though :)

well I'm not touching anythng under the engine. It is all behind it. I'm leaving the stock up pipe and cross pipe for now. I'm just changing the downpipe out to the back of the car.

How'd the install go? Are you super stoked? It looks sweet. :D

Hardy- That vid wasn't too bad. I wanted to see red line pulls through all 5 gears though.

Yeah a nice redline all out sprint would sound sweet. I sped up in the beginning but didn't push it too hard. The exhaust was still banging around a bit onto the crossmember for the tranny at that point and I just cringed everytime it would bang when downshifting or shifting hard, so I didn't push it that hard. Also, my boosting issue isn't fixed yet either. I'm going to try and clean the wastegate solenoid and if that doesn't fix it I'll have to get a boost guage and manual boost controller. I need to spend money on a few other things, first though. I eventually need to get some engine and tranny mounts and that will help the exhaust from banging around a lot. Once I get that then I"ll feel happier about driving faster off the line. :)

I did notice that redline stilll pulls pretty strong with this new exhaust. It doesn't tend to top off on the top end. If anything it is more envigorated. I think torque has increased as well. It just feels more jackrabbit like on the bottom end. Which surprised me for not haveing a ton of power and having a 3" exhaust. Maybe it just comes from taking out two cats. Either way, it seems to be a bit more alive, that's for sure.

I'll explain in more detail how my install went later.

I had the same problem with my custom exhaust, we must use different engine mounts over here, out of interest where is your flex joint located? engine side of the gearbox mount? or the other side? I have had issues with moron exhaust fitters over here putting flex joints in the wrong spots, it should be located on the tailshaft side of the gearbox mount, if its not its the perfect excuse to get the exhaust modified so that it doesn't hit the gearbox crossmember.

just looked closer at the photos, seems you don't have a flex joint.......   you should.
