shift knob size?

does anyone know the exact measurements for the shift knob threads. i need a new shift knob cuz my old one is crap. i want one that has a direct fit tho.

M12x1.25mm. These are the same threads as all Legacy-based cars (i.e. all current Subarus).
They're also the same threads as the lug nuts.

The 1984s also had the same shift thread so you could get one of those XT pistol shifters.

I had the automatic version on my '84 auto wagon. Kind of looks like a fighter jet control stick. It angles forward from the shaft and has a pistol-grip to it. At the top on the auto it has the shift lock button like a weapons fire button for your thumb. Have you ever seen the pistol grip shifters old Mopars would have? Very similar to that.
