yeah....it is a good question.
More then likely it has to do with the board revision we're running. The url you posted is more or less not a static image url. It's using a dll to request a specific image on that server.
The newer version of phbb I believe has some security fixes in it, and that may be one of them to disallow parsing of anything but image type file extensions, to reduce the vunrability of the board.
if you want to post pics from that site.....just post them as a url. It works fine, and people can just click on them.
