Does anybody have anything good to say about them? I'm looking at getting one and need some opinions. Thanks

I have a cordless 18V Dewalt and I highly recommend it. Just tried to get the nut off a spindle the other day and after putting it in a vise and cranking on it with a 3-ft breaker to no avail (the cheap table I have the vise on was getting twisted to hell). Got out the impact wrench and held it on for about 15 secs before the nut started to move and then it pulled it right off. The only way I could get the head bolts off my engine, too.
Got it off ebay brand new with 2 batteries and a case for just under $300.

Sears sells a DeWalt 12 volt for $200, that I want really really bad. Only produces aboug 87 ft-lbs tq, but for what i'd be using it for(changing wheels at autox) it's perfect.

DeWalts rule. . . I swear by them.
Laurel, might want to at least consider the 14 volt for more torque. That is, if it offers more and not just more usable time per charge. Otherwise, I'd save-up for the 18 and call it good.
Jr., They're a great tool to use in places where hauling a compressor would simply be too impractical . . . like Laurel said, such as autocross. Also, they're not as noisy as air, and you don't have to lubricate them all the time, like other air tools.

I've got a compressor, that does all I need. But I wouldn't mind having an eletric impact wrench. Less bulky.

I second getting the 18V. The difference in price not as much as the difference in performance - the 18V has a lot more power and it can be the difference between getting the nut off or not. A 12V might not even be able to switch a set of tires on a single battery either.

Do you suggest using your teeth to get wheels off?

I take my wheels off and put them back on all the time though, Hardy.
I could even use the convenience of an impact tool just to make the whole process a bit less of an ordeal.

I'll send my JY AWD conversion parts to you for disassembly first, then, so you can go house on them just for fun. Do it outdoors so you can show your pythons off to the ladies.
