Ok, so I may have access to some black interior. I haven't seen the shape of it yet, but if it is good I'm going to consider taking out my whole interior and swapping it with the 93-94 black interior and paneling.

Which interior do you guys like better, and would you switch?

I like black for the reason of if you're gonna upgrade to a nice V3 STi steering wheel it'll match nicely.

But on the other hand I'd never want to change from gray because I wouldn't wnat to swap out my dash.

Black for a similar reason - it's easier to match anything to it.

Black, because that's what I have :)

I like my seats better than the 91/92 seats. The 91/92 seats just feel a lot less grippy than my 94 seats.

The only 91/92 interiors I've been in were Vikash's "new" 91 and Matt's 92. Both are so stupidly fast that I didn't pay much attention to the interior, I was to busy smiling.

I'd take either over my current blue plastic :\ I guess its the daily reminder of the age of my car.

Personally I prefer black of the two. Something clean about it.

I like the two tone color of the grey seats, if I remember correctly the black seats have some other kind of cloth mesh thing going on. Although being able to match stuff to the black interior is a plus.

I like the way black looks, but there's a practical advantage to ligher colors: in the summer they don't get as hot when you park in the sun.

Hey Vikash,

Do the black seats feel more comfy than the grey ones??

Black cause 04 wrx and 02-03 2.5 RS seats match up perfectly. Also the black is nicer. But the grey suede also is pimp and is comfyer then the black interior.

grey seats are more comfortable?

ya the greay seats are much softer, must be the suede, as opposed to the woven fabric for the black seats. I have side by side comparisons :D

Yea, the gray seat fabric is like velour or something. They are comfortable to the touch, but I didn't feel any difference between them and my seats when sitting in them.

arent the early turbo seats part leather, part suede? And the later are just plain cloth. The velour seats are on the non-turbos.

Shoot, I don't have velour, I have cloth. My old GLs had velour. I still have the seats in my spare room. I bring them out for extra visitors and they are usually skeptical until they sit in them and are then surprised how comfortable they are.

maybe velour was an LS only thing then :\

your right THAWA, L's had cloth, LS's had velour, LSi's had leather, and turbo's had a leather/suede - cloth mix depending on year

I feel like the later turbo seats (all cloth) are a little gripper than the earlier turbo seats (leather and cloth), but I can't say for sure, since thus far I've only experienced the early seats on the passenger side. Not being actually in control of the car probably makes a big psychological difference since I can't brace myself for turns exactly as they happen and such.

I'll tell you for sure when I get the boostjunkie Legacy running again. :)

The 91/92 Turbo's aren't Suede. Suede is grippy and nice. The Turbo seats are smooth and don't leave marks when you scratch them.

I think the the 91-92 turbo seats are pleather. I don't think their real leather. Also LSI's in Canada had no leather interior, which is kinda dissapointing.

Well I checked out the interior on the car. It looks real good. No scratches, cuts, or fading. I was really surprised at the change in the texture of the interior feel. The darker seats have almost a coarse sticky material. It almost burlap or something, haha. I can see how they stick to you differently than the 91 interior, though. I like my interior's nice smooth feel, but as I've been thinking about it, I think I'm starting to lean toward the darker interior. I think it will be more resiliant to abuse and even stains. Plus, the 2.5 rs seats or hte wrx seats would fit in like they were meant to be there. I thought ther would be a noticable difference in seat patteerns, but as I was looking at it, I could see how things would fit nicely. I can't afford to buy it from him just yet, but he knows that and said that he has some time so I may yet do the whole interior swap.

One thing I don't like is the pocket under the ashtrey is so much smaller because of the airbag computer. Is there black trays that are the same as the 91?

Also, how easy is it to switch over the steering wheel onto the 91's? Do the later models with airbags have a different hub or anything?

I want ver3 STi/WRX Grey/Black Seats...
They'd match the grey interior nicely.
