Everyone always makes comments about people being stupid, while they're at work.

I work with the dumbest people I think, just for an example, a guy was pretending to know about cars, while he was looking at the FMIC on the ESX WRX in a mag, he was like "Dude, look at the size of that turbo!!"

I'm pretty bored too, but I'm more tired than anything else. I've got shitloads of stuff to do around the house, but I'd rather whore this place up than do laundry

Yes, people are dumb as shit. That goes without saying. I'm just looking forward to this weekend. My buddy from SoCal came up and will be here for the next week. Going to the Giants game tonight. Concert tomorrow night with a band I've been dying to see for a looooong time (they're from Montreal and don't come out west much). Then we're going to a Dali exhibit on Sunday. No plans for Monday yet, but I'm sure we'll figure something out :D

Yeah for Memorial Day weekend!!!

and BOOOO to dumb people!

YAY! I'm home and the weekend is here.

I got roped into the some server shit before I left....got them taken care of, and went to the gym for a quick work out.

I hear ya michael. I'm pretty beat too. This week has been pretty busy.

Monday night I ripped the entire A/C system out.
Tuesday night I put it back in.
Wed night I went to this singles mingle thing...was pretty cool...but was out late and had to get up.
Thurs evening went indoor rock climbing.
tonight I'm goin to see Marco V downtown....should be a good show.
tomorrow night probably am going to some party up north of town....
not to mention I worked out m, w, f.

Sleep....who needs it..... :P

Hmm...that really is strange. The ESX car has a dry ice cooled, water intercooler that's in the front passenger side dash and the heat exchanger is in the trunk....It doesn't even have a FMIC.

Oh wait, I just thought of something. ESX sells tuner packages and some come with a FMIC. The car probably was tuned by ESX but wasn't their factory car.

Hmm, I guess I'm wrong. It was a 04 WRX painted red, sorry... I'm not a big fan of Subarus on the dragstrip

This week was just crap. I did get an 88 on my Calc test, wanted to get an A, but hey, this is the class I'm taking for the 3rd time now, can't ask for miracles

I'm at work right now, and after my family calmed me down, I decided not to walk out. I get so sick of the people that I work with, they're always late or never show up at all, don't do their job while they're here, talk about dumb shit all night long, listen to the worst crap on the radio, they don't deserve to bum on the streets let alone work here. Yet they still have steady jobs, get paid almost what I do, get the same bonuses, and when they screw up stuff, I get blamed for it. Some thanks I get for being one of the best employees in the Parts department, and also the youngest. It just so happens that I'll have been here 2 years tomorrow, and I was at my last job 2 years before I'd had it. :? I'm just gonna sit down with my boss Monday (yes I work Memorial day  ) and discuss it with him.

On a good note, the Central FL Nabisco crew is having a huge meet this Sunday, which I'll go to. So the weekend isn't a total loss...

Then the Dragon next weekend

I still haven't figured out if it's people that are stupid or if it's just the fact that I'm extremely intelligent that makes them seem dumb.

The thing that's not so funny is that the dumbest bastards are on top of the pile. I don't know if anyone's heard of the Peter Principle but where I work it should be in the employee handbook. Remeber that the next time you bite into a Pop-tart!!!

No, most people are stupid. People think I'm a genius, to which I reply that I'm only a little above average. Problem is what I think should be average is actually too high. So I guess they're not completely wrong, it's just a sad state of affairs when I'm considered that damn smart.

I cant believe that no one here has touched on the fact that people who you are forced to work with are total F$&^ing idiots and they are usualy higher up in rank than you. I dont have to deal with the public at my job but I do have to deal with engineers that have their 100K degrees in mechanical engineering and dont know which way to turn a f$%#ing wrench to take off a nut! And these are the people giving me orders. BLAH!

I had them at my last job. The head of engineering and my boss started calling me to product design meetings because the idiot engineers couldn't design anything for real-life use or for manufacturability. Ideas like standard size holes or hardware, etc. were too difficult to understand.

"Why is this hole .0615"? How inportant is this size?"

"Uh, I don't know. We just needed a hole there."

"So why can't we make it a sixteenth of an inch? (.0625"). Do you have any idea how much of a pain it will be do get all custom drill bits?"

I wish it was the only example.

Recently I got so fed up with my old boss that I walked into the CEO's office sat down and told him that I really enjoyed working for the company and I really liked my job but we had to find something else for me to do other than stay in that department. I said I didn't want to leave so what eles could I do there. I said I was going to walk out or do something else there. He told me that starting the next day I would go into the service-tech dept. working directly under the most highly looked upon guy in the whole company. I've been there for 3 weeks now with NO probs whatsoever and I love what I do now.

I can really bitch about my managers, trust me.

Small example: I'd say our warehouse has room for about 40-50 bumper covers. We have no less than 80 in stock. There are bumpers all out of order, sitting on the floor, in the way, makes the place look terrible. Yet my manager is so stupid that he keeps ordering more even though we're not selling the ones we have, and he gets super-pissed that the bumpers are all screwed up...

I actually had a rather heated argument with my night crew, coz they're so F*%$ing lazy that they refused to do their job. Two people are necessary for the stock order receiving, usually 3 are on hand for emergencies. We have 4 right now, and still stuff doesn't get done. I had to do extra work yesterday to make up for it, and tomorrow when I go to work on Memorial day at 8am , I'm having a talk with my manager because I refuse to keep working with these assholes. I'm also strongly considering a schedule change in which I'd work more during the week and cut out Saturdays entirely, coz I'm tired of all my friends telling me all the fun they're having on Saturdays while I'm slaving away. I'm 20 years old, I'm too young to keep doing this crap.

Oh I could rant on for the rest of the day, but I'll spare you guys :)

i want a new job, but i dont have any real complaints about mine, except somebody keeps doing the crossword puzzle and putting the wrong words in, and spelling them wrong to boot.

Yeah.....I totally agree.....there are so many engineers that I wouldn't hire.....they may have book smarts, but when it comes to common sense and real world application.....it's out the window. I'm not saying I'm perfect or a genius by any means.....but I can do a whole hell of a lot more then most.

Coming from a design background as well being a common-sense pragmatist, practicality and application appropriate ideas are natural for me so I find it frustrating when others don't have it. When it came to the initial electrical design, these guys were pretty smart (well, usually), they just broke down when it came to user interface and packaging, etc. But like a math teacher to an art student, I had a hell of a time explaining stuff to them sense I couldn't understand how they didn't understand.

yeah.....everyone's different.....I've gotten better at being patient with people in my job because the field folks typically are guys that have been working there for most their life. They're by no means dumb.....they just don't know the inner workings behind some of the systems and stuff I deal with.

Academic skills and common sense are worlds apart. Really. If I remember correctly, Einstein could barely pass school, even though he came up with the theory of relativity. As has already been said, there are people whose classroom skills are phenomenal, but they have no idea how to use it in the real world.

I see both sides at work: I see guys in the shop who can't even read the FSM, but they can tear a motor down and put it back together, just because they have common sense and can figure it out. Then I see people that are in their 4th year of college, can write a 300-pg term paper by hand and get an A with flying colors, but they couldn't learn to use Word because they don't understand computers.

I like to try to do everything reasonably well. That's more useful IMO. Can I take an injector out of my car, do some measurements on it, and calculate its BSFC? Hell no, but I can still change an axle pretty quickly :) Am I a bestseller novel writer? No, but I have been told my writing skills are above average and that I should pursue a Journalism major.

Okay, I'm stopping now. I promise
