Rear control arm replacement - not too bad

My rear bushings on the pass side were SHOT to hell and the bolt on the inside kept coming loose. A little disconcerting so I had to change the arms out.

I expected this to be a nightmare, but was very easy and straightforward. I even got spindles from mTk for this job just in case I couldn't get the bolts out like my mechanic woarned after sucking air through his teeth (thanks again, man). I only ended up using one used control arm from mTk and had to order a new one for the rear so I could use my anti roll bar. Very easy, even having to drop the rear crossmember a little to get the inside bolt out (very long on the fwd) was easy. At first I thought it was seriously stupid and uncharacteristic of Subaru to make me have to drop it to get the bolt out, but not a problem at all.

Lesson: yearly undercoatings with a cheap can of spray is worth it 100%. I almost can't wait to convert to AWD.

Now instead of yelling in the back driveway, I'm enjoying a beer. Ipswich Ale. Yeah ha!
