Perfomance 4EAT transmission rebuilds?

Just picked up my '93 Touring Wagon and am starting to plan for a little more power. I haven't had an automatic for awhile but am actually enjoying the clutchless life. My dad told me stories of his old '57 Nomad with a built Turbo-Hydro that ruled ANY manual musclecar of the era; I guess I'm looking to continue the legacy (no pun intended ) with my own super-wagon!

I've heard Level 10 mentioned as an option for a performance 4EAT rebuild and was wondering if anyone has a performance built automatic which is supporting hefty horsepower.

 I have`nt had a chance to test my JMO convertor (BTW they`re in Fullerton) but Mark said once my car is running, I won`t believe the difference in performance compared to the stock setup. Once I`ve compared that, I`ll have my TransGo kit installed at a later date. It`s quite a job to do this and should only be done by someone familiar with the 4EAT. A friend of mine in AZ. bought a highly modified Impreza with a Level10 tranny in it and was constantly having a leaking problem due to the high line pressures. He was NOT happy :x Call Mark @ JMO and get his opinion as to what`s REASONABLE for you and go from there. Be careful when you get too crazy (like me) or one thing`ll lead to another dollar-wise (I`ve got $10k in the engine and convertor alone  ) Remember the old worn-out (but true) phrase: Speed costs money-how fast you wanna go :?: Good luck--Rod (hopefully running soon!!!!)

Well, it's almost a year later and I think I'm finally ready to rebuild my 4EAT. I need sporty daily driveability that will be able to handle a little extra power.

I've pretty much decided to go with a complete rebuild with upgraded components (shift improver) like the Level10 or TransGo kits, but I haven't heard good things about Level10's product. If anyone has experience with those kits I'd like to know more...

Right now I'm leaning towards a ProTorque upgraded torque converter since several people have recommended their upgrade.

Rod: did you ever get your tranny together? I'd like to hear about the JMO TC.

I believe Barsotti's Auto Care is Level10 qualified. Least that's what I heard. You should give him a call and see if he can do something for you. He's very reasonable and a subaru enthusiast through and through. He's up in newcastle so if you do come up here (or down actually) we should have a lil mini meet :)

Thanks for the tip THAWA, but I was hoping for something in the SoCal area. Right now I'm looking into JMO since they're very close to me. I'll probably go with a stock rebuild with upgraded TC and maybe later I'll add a Transgo kit or valve body upgrade.

I've only heard wonderful things about upgraded TC's. Ciper would normally be the one to talk to about the 4eat, but alas, he's on hiatus :(
