Window height adjustment?

I have a 1991 LS Wagon with power windows. My rear passenger side rear window won't "roll-up" all the way (it is contacting the rubber seal, but not seated in the little slot at the top).

Can anyone explain how to adjust the height on power windows? Is there a pre-load adjustment behind the trim panel?

I'm not sure what you mean by slot, but assume you've observed it not going as high up as the other windows. Sounds like a weak motor or bad contact. You could try checking for corrosion on the electrical contacts. Does it behave differently with the master or local switch? If you open the door and raise it does it go to full height?

Steve...the motor seems strong, and the window rises to the same height regardless of which switch I use. I'll try pulling up on it tonight to see if I can move in manually.

Hm. Something stuck in the regulator?

Just tried raising the rear passenger window manually...it doesn't budge. Still about 1/8" below where the other rear window seats into the weatherstripping.

I'll likely be pulling the trim off this weekend to check things out. I did see this post when scanning the BBS for solutions to my problem...any idea what Andrew is talking about?

I believe there is a way to adjust the glass travel if you take the door panel off....

Hi Andrew,

Thanks...I took the panel off last night, and you're right--there are two adjustment stops that limit the height of the window. These are adjusted by way of a 10mm nut.

Simple fix, and I'm now enjoying whistle-free highway driving.

Thx,
Dave
