So I wanted to replace some of the rubber hoses...

and subaru (subaruparts) wants $7+ dollars per hose!! Screw that...I'm going to the local parts store and rummaging thru there hose supply. I don't care if I have to cut up a bunch of hoses. Not blasting subaruparts but just in a little shock.
Sorry...done complaining..

have you ever priced oem fuel hoses? Be prepared to shit your pants if you think 7 is too much.

Parts store here charge 5$ per feet of Gas-lines :\

Well, there are advantages to using the OEM vulcanized hoses that may or may not be worth the premium:
They'll clear everything they need to clear without rubbing on stuff.
They'll definitely have the correct inner diameter.
They'll be shaped in an intuitive way so that it's fairly easy to figure out how to put everything back together if you disconnect it all without labeling it.

Some hoses you HAVE to get OEM.
For example: the vacuum line between the intake manifold and the brake booster. It has a check valve molded into the hose, so you can't use a regular vacuum line and you can't remove the valve.

well you could put two hoses together with a check between them though
