Just getting broken in, My 93 just turned 138K. I think one reason for the long life of these engines is the crank shaft is only like a foot long. anybody have an idea how many main caps the 2.2 has, 2 bolt or 4 bolt?

main cap?

Do you mean the crank mains? They're completely encapsulated by the block webbing. Picture an inline four block (except with only 2-cyl of course) without a bearing cradle and now attach an opposite-facing block where the cradle would go.
I've got 243+k on mine. Original alternator, PS pump, starter, all sensors save temp sensor, original exhaust (though the muffler's not long for this world).

140 on mine..
A guy near here, (bignose on the board) is closing in on the 300k mark.
I think he's hovering around 275 now.

The two halves of the block are the main bearing caps. I'm 90% sure that the EJ22 has 5 main bearings, which is why it's so much smoother than a EA-series engine with only 3 main bearings.
I'm almost to 135k with the original engine/tranny, PS pump, O2 sensor, and radiator.

I've got 189,500 miles on my '93, and most of it is original. I'm starting to replace a few worn ruber suspension parts here and there, and a few other small things that have worn out...

Highest mileage Subaru I've ever seen was in a local junkyard. It was an mid 80's Gl hatch, known as the chaser in Canada. This thing had 748 xxx km's on it

. Man that car must of had some good stories to tell.

my friend had an 84 GL wagon that had 400,000 miles when he donated it. It still ran fine, he just was ready for something else. Used some oil, though.
mileage up date..

91White-T just bought a '91 SS with 420k miles on it! I'd say he's got the winner.

LoL. crazy. thats a LOT of miles. my 90 N/A legacy blew up at 238,000 miles and my 91 N/a Legacy is pretty much hella smooth running at about 200,000 miles.
Note: wasnt my fault motor blew-up. previous owner did NOT take care of the car. now its runnin the ej22t+ej20g hybrid!
