Putting a 2.2 Legacy engine in an old Leone Coupé?

Hi every1.
I'm beginning to get seriously boored with my old coupe... 100hp is just not enough!
But i don't have the money for bying a Turbo-charged car, so i'm thinking of replacing the EA82 with a 2.2L from a Legacy?
I'm just wondering if it can be done, or if someone allready tried this?
I'm thinking 136Hp would do nicely in a 1202Kg car... :)
I've looked at pics (only found turbo legacys though) and fuel-lines and such seem to be at least somewhat in the right place.
The things i'm worrying about is:
Will the new engine fit on the old gearbox?`
will the exhaust fit, or will i have to make a new one?
Do i have to replace anything else? like the box regulating ignition and stuff like that?
I'd love some answers :)

Oh, and sorry for my poor english... i'm not used to writing in english, as my native language is swedish ^^

Hi Gurfus,

I'm sure people have done this. How involved and specifics.....I'm not really sure. You will most likely need to do "some" custom work with the exhaust.

You will probably need the engine control module from the EJ22 as well.

You may want to ask your question on the USMB. Some of the guys on the old gen side may have done this and could provide you with more details.

You should ask subrafreak; he put an EJ22 in his Loyale:

He then turbocharged it. :)

Thanks guys! i'll check it out as soon as i get home from my vacation :-)
And i discovered that 100hp Can be fun, at least on a gravel-road, and only if you push the var to its (and your!) limit...!
