As long as you realize 300-350 whp translates to around 400-467 horse at the flywheel. You'll have to think about your tranny. And I surely hope you are putting all STi engine/tranny mounts in.
For the block. Hand balanced 2.5 crank. Stocker connecting rods, whichever ones from Subaru fit. Bore out cylinders and custom forged pistons. Keep same compression, increase displacement. Port and polish heads. That's about it with the block, I do believe. After that you most definitely will need engine management to get numbers that high (without going nuts with boost...). You might want to talk to Kelley. You'll need to save some cash for the drop-in ECU and tuning time.

i would do everything he said except lower the compression, swap to a T61 turbo and run higher boost. The reason so is this... most turbo cars that are FWD or RWD will keep fairly good compression just so they dont lose what little edge they have getting them up off the line, but with an AWD car this is not needed. Your AWD tranny also kills your trap speeds so in order to over come that you need to reduce low end throttle responce and raise your high end pull. This will also allow you to run higher boost on lower octane fuel and leave you options open for even greater advances in boost.
True story, EG Civic with a fully built B series hybrid on 7.5:1 compresson and 2.2 bar from a T04E pulled 531whp and 364lb-ft.......... this lil FWD car doesnt come off the line well w/o a set of slicks but on the freeway... it doenst wait for a damn thing.
