Just saw it! It showed a rally car (looked like an old Ford Escort or some thing) going through the streets of some European town and it made me mess my pants. It looked sooooo good, I can't wait.....till November, which is when it looks like the release date was moved back to.

Hehe, I've been playing again too. I started a whole new career though. I started with a Miata this time instead of the Treano XX or whatever it's called. The little awd turbo thing.

I'm using a miata aswell

But on the same career though.

I need a PS2 soooo bad. I obliterated GT1 and GT2, but I've only scratched the surface of GT3 with a friend's system and game. From what I can tell, if you drive as good as you did in 1 or 2, you're still going to win. But screw up and your chances are much worse. And the perfect starter car in that game is the hachi-roku (AE86 Corolla)

the hell with that ugly ass car and the fad surrounding it

I started with the Miata too! Now I've got a shit ton of cars. I've gotta say, my favorite is my Supra for having fun. 1100hp, and a setup that prevents traction indefinately, and in the best possible way.
I wish GT4 will allow body modification. It'd be sweet to de-wing the Supra, things like that, or bigass SWRT or 555 decals on the side of a WRB V7 STi.
There is going to be an SVX in the game, but so far no word of a BC5/6. The lists available on the internet aren't entirely complete though, as they all leave out the Ford Taurus SHO. That car WILL be in the game. I know the owner of the White Gen-1 SHO that was the model for the game.

The list I saw included a 1993 Legacy RS RA.

Which list did you see? The only one's I've seen are here:
http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/t-35057.html
They make mention of the 03 WRX, but call it the Version VIII though, so credibility is questionable I suppose. They say the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler will be in the game (seen in screen shots). I can't see why though.
I want a 94 Legacy! That way I can have an ABM Legacy Turbo! I don't think ABM was available in 93

Can't wait to see GT4!!!
The one thing I never liked about GT3 is the super long races. Who has time to run two hour race? I like the idea of doing them but when it comes down to actually doing it I tend to shy away.

Ya, I hear you. That's pretty much all I have left on my main game. I don't like the test track races either, I almost fall asleep everytime I have to do those.

I always get last in my Supra on the Test Track races. No traction until the top of 4th gear and by then I'm at the beginning of the turn and literally fighting to keep the car from putting me backwards in the infield, full lock right and feathering the throttle.

more fun news, been tweaking the miata, i've got 133 hp, and i'm getting high 1:42 lap times (and still improving) on special stage 5

According to
www.gt3times.com that's better than some schmoe in a miata with 335hp, and almost as good as some guy with a 98 300zx with 470 hp

Too bad I'm not this good in real life

I was pulling world record times on Laguna Seca in my Viper Competition Coupe. That thing is actually a HUGE challenge to drive. No traction control, no stability control, 970hp, and suspension so tight you could bounce a quarter off of it (if it wouldn't get stuck in the super-soft meats).

I'm going to try laguna seca next

I love running around in the beginner classes with BIG (4000+ pound cars, like the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish or the V8 Vantage, and the Benz CL65AMG) and whupping some Civic ass.

I love getting passed by an slksomething something (i dont care about benz's if you cant tell) in a straight, and not 5 seconds later passing the same car in the next turn.

Hardy - I agree. M-Bs are irrelevant now and they've done it to themselves. But its the AMG with the V8, not the regular M-B with the V12 with the same HP output. Oh yeah and this one's got 80000 HP and 82000 lbs/ft @ 5 rpm. That's $300k, but if you wait two years we'll put this same engine in our $30k model, but it will still only have the engine that nobody will ever use even 20% of as a relief for the boredom inherent in the cars.
I guess I would be sad if I ever really cared, but none of the Germans grab me by the balls like some Italian or British cars do.
I have nothing to contribute to the GT4 discussion as I haven't had a game system since the first Nintendo. The older versions I've seen looked cool, though.
