What's the best way to clean dirty seats. By dirty I mean saturated. Is it ok to take them out of the car on a hot sunny day and just hose them down and let them dry??

I would start with stuff like Resolve carpet cleaner...

If it was really bad I'd probably try to remove the cloth from the seats and use a washing machine.

Oh, I didn't know you could remove the covers.

The padding is soaked through but I guess that's ok cuz no one sees that.

I don't think you're meant to be able to easily remove the covers, but it can be done... Phil removed his to add extra foam bolstering. I think he had to sew them back together though.

I'm not sure if i would put them in the washing machine.... I think that would kinda be like taking the covers off of your couch cushions (which most couch manufacturers don't recommend as it is hard to get them to fit back on right). Washing them would probably make it worse.

If using upholstry cleaner doesn't work, you could probably find a local place that could reupholster them for a decent price... I know a friend who had his whole Volvo redone for a reasonable price.

rent a carpet cleaner and use the upholstery attachment, take the seats out and go to town
