Can you guys help me out please? A guy wants to sell me his stock WRX wheels & tires for $175. He says there are any blemishes on the rims but two of the tires have 75% tread and the other two are worn out. Is this a good deal or should I pass?

That's a pretty good price, but not one you'll be unable to find again on NASIOC.

That's weird that one pair of tires would be worn out and the other would be only 25% worn. If your car's 4WD you probably want to avoid that situation.

Why are 2 of them toast? Why just 2 of them? My RE92 are equally worn. Hmm I guess he didn't rotate them. Oh...RE92 are junk, just replace them with a better tire.

I'm not sure but I'll ask. Could this be a sign of danger?

not a big deal if your just buying rims/tires. If the tires are to the wear bars then I would replace them. RE92s are crap...but you can find them cheap all over the place (used).

I'll probably get some Kumho ASX. They're cheap. Anyone know if they're any good?

that's pretty good price......just ditch the tires and get new tires if the tires are bad......the re92's are crap ass tires anyway.......

The guy has another set for sale but they are $500. I think they are stockers. I know that he has a good set of tires on them so that's why he's selling them for so much. He's pretty cool it seems because he got another offer on the set I'm getting for $235 but since I contacted him first, he's giving them to me for $175.

I got mine for $200, they're almost mint (little scratch on one rim) and the re92's only had 2k miles on them (unfortunately) . $175 is still a good price though as long as there isn't major curb rash or anything.

I paid $200 for mine. Flawless, not a single scratch. The wheels were driven on for 1 month until his rims came in from California. So they had around 250 miles on them or so, and since it was break-in, they weren't abused.

The guy who I got them from had the first WRX in Virginia (I think) and is at a TurboXS Stage 4 right now. When he ordered his rims, they were shocked that he had the car already, there was a 2 month wait on the left coast.

nasioc is your best bet, go to your regional forum and ask around there.

Thanks 206er but I did end up buying the set for $175. There's no damage to the wheels at all.
