Are a major PITA to install!! Too small!! Plus I don't havethe subaru issued spring compressor...I have to put a small dap of grease to hold the keeper in place then let the spring out.

I have a nice dent in my houses heating duct from a run away spring:)

Safety glasses are my friend....

couldn't have been easier for me.... used a regular compressor and a magnet....

The keepers are small though...

  Yeah, the little suckers can be a trial. I have a generic cheap spring compressor that I had to bend and grind to fit the small Subaru springs. The keepers either went in too far or not enough and getting the second one was the tough part. Lots of swearing, needle nose pliers got it done.

The right tools make all the difference. Snap-On has a valve spring compressor that bolts to the head and uses a pivoting bar to compress the springs. One of the best tools I've ever used.
