temp gauge broke after indiglo install...

Hello all...
After finally getting my indiglo gauges (and fuel injectors!) installed and my car running...I find my stock coolant temp gauge isn't working any more. I was careful to make sure the indiglo gauges didn't "bow" up and hit the gauge needle...although its not a perfect fit, so they might touch the cap on top of the shaft going to the needle. I double checked the connections...Any ideas? Any ideas on how I could safely run my car until I get it fixed? Maybe I could read temp changes from normal with a voltmeter hooked up somewhere? I have been planning on getting aftermarket gauges for a while...where would I tap into for a coolant temp sensor for my gauges? Any other temporary fixe ideas?
thanks
Micum

The dash gauge sender is a single "spade" connection and its right next to the ECU sender. Id just tap it there. Its a variable resistance based on temp.

thanks ciper...turns out I didn't need it though...stupid stupid stupid...always make sure there are no parts left over when your done...forgot to put three screws in the back of the gauges that actually complete the electrical connection...
