I was given a free used RS stock header from Sean at Rallitek. Thanks Sean! However, muffler shops will not touch it because it removes the original converter that is built into the stock old headers.

However I ended up having Darryls Economy Mufflers install 2.5" piping back from the original header, with a new converter and new glass pack. This cost $280 total.

Now I just will fabricate up a simple bend so I can connect the new header to the new exhaust.

Note to Self. Do NOT get another glasspack. Man, I thought the 2" was loud. I am going to have to replace the damn thing as soon as possible. I went cheap but my ears are paying the price! It only sounds "good" at WOT. Around town its annoyingly loud.

I have to recommend Darryls Economy Mufflers very highly!

I just went back this morning because glass pack was just too loud and obnoxious off of anything short of a race track. I was prepared to spend another $60-$100 for labor and muffler. They simply charged me $20 labor and swapped the glass pack for a muffler for free.

Now I just sound fairly stock unless I really get on it.

YA, ditto on Darryls. Ive been going there for about 10yrs now.

I did however get my last work done at Exhaust specialties. He did a good job of bending and welding some stainless pipe for me, but then he lectured me on how a 3" exhaust was overkill. I explained to him that it was a turbo car, and he said it didnt matter. Not only that, but a couple months later, when I had to pull out my exhaust, I noticed that he put a 2.5" gasket in one of the joints.

I felt like going back and explaining to him how exactly a turbo works, and asking him what good my 3" pipes are doing, if its got restrictions at the gaskets.
