I just finished swapping WRX brakes on my '91 L wagon and now only when cornering hard there is a metallic scraping noise. turn left, comes from the right side and vise versa. I don't think its the brakes, theyre dialled and the rotors are perfect. a friend told me to tighten the axle nuts but the little bend-in part hasnt moved, don't see how they could have come loose. could it be a wheel bearing? its a pretty bad sound. not too loud but very grating and metallic.

yep wheel bearings, least so i'm told. My front one is messed up pretty bad, one of em at least and both the rears are toast so i've decided to do em all at once.

what size wheels do you have. You may want to check that caliper is not touching the inside of the wheel. There would probably be scrape marks if it were. Both the caliper and wheel will flex, so if your clearance is pretty small, I'd definitely take a look at it.

If the caliper isn't touching the wheel, then yes it is wheel bearings. I'm having the same noise and everything is stock on my car...

well its stock WRX brakes and wheels so I HOPE its not the caliper rubbing on the wheel
