I've been seeing these commercials about this Flitz thing. It supposedly gets rid of oxidation. I was wondering has anyone used this on their oxidized head lamps? (don't know if this has already been posted)

I saw the commercial... it doesn't look like there's anything special about it that helps it deal with oxidation; it's just a polishing cloth in an interesting shape with a polishing compound. It should be about the same as using Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish with a sponge, I think.

is the flitz/mothers compound the same as the wetsanding technique on josh's website then? I mean, if we could save a few steps and whatnot, then we'd be in better shape i suppose... what's the diff? i suppose sanding would be a a better solution, as opposed to, well, the solution, so vikash, what's your take? flitz/mothers or wetsanding?

I know from personal experience that the Mothers polish does not do a complete job. A nice careful thorough sanding results in a noticeably clearer lens.

It's possible that the Flitz compound is more abrasive than the Mothers polish. I don't know. I'd doubt it, though, since it's supposed to be safe to use on painted finishes and stuff.
