It's a suppository

hopefully someone will get that

First lemme give you a little back ground before I get to the best part so far. One day at work I looked in the help wanted section, just for the hell of it. I noticed that the local dealership, Maita Hyundia, Subaru, Suzuki, was looking for a Lube Tech. I thought to myself, SWEET! I'm currently a Lube Tech so this should be an instant in for me. So a couple days later (when I had time to actually go there) I put in an app, but unfortunately they had already filled the position by the time I applied. I did however speak with the guy who does hiring for a couple of minutes and he told me that Maita Toyota (they're all one big happy family as he put it) was looking for a Lube Tech aswell. He then went on to say that in about 7-8 months the Subaru part is branching off to become its own dealership and that it's fesible for me to work at toyota and get some experience there then try to transfer over to the subaru part. He sent over my app and resume to toyota and the guy there gave me a call the next day or so. So I went into Toyota in the next couple of days, and had an interview with the guy there. It seemed like a really cool place to work, even if I would have to do some of the worst oil changes known to man. Unfortunately the guy there said that they aren't flexiable at all with schooling, so we pretty much decided that it wasn't meant to be. Then about two weeks later(yesterday) I got a call from the guy at Hyundai/Subaru. He said he asked for my application and resume back and wanted to setup an interview for a Lot porter/detailer position. Basically that means I get to drive cars around all day and clean them. I just went in for the interview today, and he said he really wanted to hire me! I asked about being flexible with school and he said we could work something out. Which is great. So I'm supposed to go back tomorrow and setup a piss test and a day for orientation! I'm so excited! The cleaning part sounds kind of lame, but I get to drive subarus around all day! Hurray for doing things on a whim :D

Congrats and good luck! These kind of things never happen to me so what's your secret? I get the "you're so valuable here that I can't let you go and by the way I'll screw you even harder then before because of how valuable you are to us". :x

thanks guys, I'm happy.

James- my manager today told me he wanted to do that to me, basically tell thewm I was a fuck up and they would just waste the insurance, but he didnt :) He gave me a fgood review. I dunno what it is, but I just work hard at work, and try not to mess up. I also try to do as much as I can on everything. I dont really excell in any one poistion wehen i work though. The way I see it, it's better to have one guy that can do 5 diff things at twice as long as it would take five individual guys to do the tasks at one speed. Or something like that :)

tristan and mike- It's actually a line from futurama when fry gets worms and he needs to swallow microsized versions of the crew to get rid of the worms, they're in a egg-sized thing.

Sounds good, congratulations. I think the only way to get jobs anymore is to walk in and ask for one.

My old boss told me that they're not supposed to say anything bad about former employees for liability reasons. We had a guy who worked for us who was brutality incarnate, yet the best my boss could do was damn him with faint praise saying he was always on time (which was the only thing the guy got right) and saying there may be a language barrier (the guy claimed to be German, though I suspect he was French since his accent was a little off. When I accused him of being French he got so PISSED and didn't talk to me for days. Very funny).

Sweet Hardy! Congrats, I'm happy for you. :)

I've been waiting for a job to open up at one of the local Subaru dealers here for 8 years and just this weekend the one closest to me finally had a sales rep leave. I took my Resume in and the general manager said they were collecting Resume's the rest of this week and then would be calling for interviews. I have my fingers crossed! :D

thanks you should go bug them daily, until they finally think, if this guy has nothing better to do than come down here, we might as well give him a job.

hahah, it's funny just how little the majority of people working there either know or care about cars. What's even funnier is the amount of people that talk like they do, but don't know half of what they're saying. All in all it was a good learning experience :)

Today was my first day and it was awesome! All I did was wash cars and park them. And they're paying me to do this! Got to drive a forester, some outbacks, and a whole bunch of hyundai's. No legacys or imprezas yet. I did see however that we have a 4wd Turbo GL-10 sedan and another loyale wagon just sitting there for whatever reason. Sadly I didnt see any xt6's though :(, We do also have an SVX sitting on the side for whatever reason aswell. Anyway I'm quite happy :D
