i hooked up my saab 900 intercooler yesterday. it went in relatively smoothly, but when i turned up the boost alittle the hoses started popping off. im thinking that im running alot more boost than i think im running. i dont have a boost gauge yet and was just going to judge how much im running by the fuel cut. the turbo is a lot louder now because of the ic. i need a better bypass valve this one doenst seem to be doing a good job with the higher boost.

you NEED a boost gauge. If anything, just run wastegate boost untill you get a gauge.

You just described what most folks here tell people NOT to do...

If you're gonna increase boost, get a boost guage. They aren't that expensive!
...way less expensive than most ruined engine parts could be.

Why don't you have a boost gauge?

I got my Autometer for 50 bucks new.

I have to agree, a boost gauge should be installed before a MBC. You can put in the Saab unit first but I wouldn't have touched boost until the gauge goes in.
