They're glass lights, they mount directly in, and have 3 adjusters it looks like, two on the inboard side and one on the outboard side of each. With them being glass and the mounting what looks like aluminum or steel or something, it's much heavier than the stock turn signals. This was jsut a test fit, dont have them wired in yet because I wouldnt have turn signals if I did :) All in good time I say :D

also dont mind the scratched up bumper, it's being replaced soon ;)

Noice.

That's way cool that they just bolt in.

They take 55-watt H3 bulbs?

I have no clue. How would I go about finding that out? The only thing it says is 12V55W on the metal plate that the light is in, I'm not even sure how to disconnect the light. it doesnt look like it just snaps in. Wasnt there some link that showed pictures of the different types of lights?

A standard H3 bulb is 55 watts... And it usually is held in with a little clip. The base of the bulb is usually grounded, and there's a wire coming off the base that goes to the switch or whatever:

oh okay cool, it looks just like this: Image

so now I ask you vikash, do you have any recomendations for a better bulb? Would something with a yellower tint be more beneficial? I'm pretty sure one of the bulbs is stock but the other looks newer so I'd like to do those ebfore i even put them in.

Yeah, just get two of these: http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIA15235

Just kidding!

Actually, without knowing anything specific about these lamps other than the fact that they're parabolic-reflector lights with fluted lenses and that they take H3 bulbs, I'd have to recommend just sticking with good quality clear 55-watt H3s from a trustworthy manufacturer.

All else being equal, yellow fog lights are better than clear fog lights. But, I don't know if there's a good way to make these fogs yellow. The vast majority of yellow H3 bulbs use a dichroic coating (the bulb actually looks bluish when not turned on), which can cause some weird behavior with the optics. It can actually result in bluish light being thrown above the cutoff, which is exactly the worst thing that can happen to a fog lamp.

If you managed to find an H3 bulb with an old-school yellow tint on it, then you wouldn't have this problem. I don't know where you could find one though. And, you'd have to deal with reduced light output, since tinting bulbs hurts their efficiency. In general you don't need a lot of light with fog lights (definitely don't use overwattage bulbs), but that doesn't mean reducing the light source's intensity won't hurt their performance.

Then again, I believe in the state of California it's actually illegal to use fog lights without having the headlights' low beams on, which kind of defeats some of the purpose of fog lights. If you plan on following the law, then it probably doesn't matter too much what you do with the bulbs.

But I still recommend good standard H3s. That's what the lights were designed for, and it's probably what they'll perform best with.

You JDM whore, you! Those are sharp (with a capitol "S").
My factory fogs were mounted on the bar between the tow hooks (beneath the front bumper) -in fact, you can see it in the photos. I wish I would have taken pictures before I took 'em off and put on the replacements, but they were ugly.

Try http://www.danielsternlighting.com/prod ... ducts.html for Narva Yellow Gold. All the bulbs are near the bottom of the page.

Also, check out http://www.rallylights.com/hella/H3.asp for Hella Yellowstar bulbs. Less expensive than the Narvas.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure Narva Golds use dichroic coatings. Ditto for Yellowstars.

I think it was a cost issue. Since fogs weren't/aren't? mandatory, why put them on, esp considering they'd then need the other corner lights, and those woudlnt fit without modification to the headlights (which would probably end up being the glass ones anyway) and then you end up with so much more money in the front end that didnt need to be there in the first place. but then again if it was me making the descisions, I would've made all legacys have great lighting.
