well i think it happend my turbo sounds like its on the fritzzs, tell me what you think.
when i make any boost, even reving the motor at idle the exhuste side of the turbo makes this crazy tinkle noise like its hitting the wall around the fan, is it on its way or am i fine.
it still works and gives me crazy boost but there is this crazy noise. should i get it out and replace the bearings cuz there toast, or leave it in and wiat till it PoPs.
how this noise came around, a bolt came out off my exhuste manifold and it was loose so i was not getting full exhuste power i put the bolt in and drove it around and the noise started. what your guys think it could be?

Is there a chance this sound is just a leak?

i looked every where vrg3, what i can tell it sounds like its comeing from the exhuste side off the turbo.
when driveing it i let off the gas at a high rpms it makes this crazy gurrggle sound.

Hmm... Have you tried pulling off the downpipe to get a look at the turbine?
It's possible that something got stuck in the turbine... What kind of material are the gaskets made of?

factory stuff. dame i hope something didnt get loged in there i am goign to ripp it apart right now thaks vrg3 i will let you no what happens.
what would you think of some one rebuilding it and putting a bigger fan in the front with a boerd out housing he siad same spooling and more boost.

Do you know what material the factory gaskets are? I don't know.
If done right, that kind of rebuild and modification would be a lot like the T-bird compressor mod that you've already done, wouldn't it?

come to think of it vrg3 it is like the t-bird set up. they want 1100. just to do that for me, what a waist.
about the noise still no clue on what is makeing it, it might be something loose around the turbo.

Are you sure your turbo is getting enough oil?

i have the same noise from my turbo.sounds fine on idle but rev it a little and it sounds like the fan is hitting the casing.but i am getting no power and a fair bit of smoke from the exhaust so changing the turbo.let me know what you find.

removed my turbo and its gone big style.loads of play in the bearings and the downpipe is full of oil.

I pulled my VF11, with 145k miles on it, out when I swapped in my 16G and it had zero shaft play.

It's still in very good condition and was pushing 16 psi all day long.

i told my dad about that balancing the turbo, he siad its all
"bowl-a-shit". my dad looks for shaft play, busting fans, and craked houseings. if it dont have those symptoms its ok to use.

Yeah reciprocating parts rotating at 100,000 rpm will have no untoward vibrations.
