Convinced a friend of mine to buy a 91 Turbo 5MT.

Immaculate inside, and engine, 240,000 kms. new clutch and brakes recently

3300$ CDN.

No hoodscoop or alloys. which is ok to him, I'm sure he'll speak for himself at some point when he signs up on the board.

Now I've finally gotten to drive both the auto and MT and I must say I'm impressed with both. MT sure is a hell of a lot louder, Gearbox wise. You can really hear those gears when you let off the gas and coast at around 2500 rpm.

My car with the mods I have make it much faster than his stock, we had to test it for sure :) He said that won't last forever, since he's got $$ to mod his vs me not having any even for gas :)

I finally have someone local to help me and to help with doing projects.

Pics soon, I'm sure of that.

Sweet!

I saw a white 93 T-leg on campus the other day. Haven't seen it again, but I want to find it and see if I can get the owner into the mod scene.

No hoodscoop or alloys.
You sure it was a turbo? It has a snail-shaped funny thing under the hood that gets too hot to touch after driving it and makes funny whistling noises?

yeah I'd be suspicious about the hood and alloys....more the hood. Does it have a spoiler?

If it is truly a turbo, the hood's either been swapped due to an accident, or the previous owner didn't like the hood scoop.

I'd be more suspicious about the wheels, unless they're 15" steelies.

It's easy to imagine even a minor frontal collision that was easier/cheaper to repair with an NA hood from a junkyard than to repair the stock hood or source a replacement turbo hood.

It's harder to imagine someone switching to smaller brakes so they could switch to smaller wheels.

But I'm sure QuickDrive would have noticed the infinite turbo lag of an NA motor. :)

I had an older Saab with aloy wheels, and I managed to loose her around a corner in 3 feet of snow. Needless to say my poor saab met the curb and I went down to the local junyard and got a set of steelies of a different car that were the same size. Shit happens, and not everyone can pay to afford it. I would DEFINATLY get a carfax on the vehicle before he got it. I cant imagine why someone would get rid of the hood scoop. The part isnt much cheaper without it..

Heheheheh.

All that was funny,
Especially the infintie turbo lag part.

Yes it's a turbo. Spoiler, sunroof, rear lsd, oh and a japanese whistling snail under the hood.

The car is virtually identical to mine aside from the preivously mentioned parts... and the 5mt
:(

They're 15" steelies.
I can see that the upper rad support was/is slightly dinged up. so I suspect front passenger collision, and most likely, whenever it was hit, was easier for whoever fixed it to source an NA hood.
