Will 205/55/16 fit a '91 Legacy Wagon LSi ?

I recently found a good deal on a set of snow tires from a WRX owner. I now own a set of OEM steelies with 205/55/16 rubber. Just putting them up against the Legacy they appear taller than the 195/65/15's already on there. Can anyone tell me if these will fit or not ?

Mostly. You're right; they're a tiny bit taller.

There are many of us on the board running 205/55-16 tires, myself included. You may experience rubbing on the hardest of corners with the heaviest of loads, but in general it should be okay.

They shouldn't rub at all, unless under the conditions that Vikash mentioned.

WRX's never had OEM steelies though, did you get WRX alloy's?

Are all LSi's AWD? They may not fit if they aren't.

Thanks for the info guys ! My LSi is AWD so that's good. Its not exac tly a "performance" car so I won't be doing many hard corners. Good to know its going to fit. I guess these are aftermarket steelies, they're the ones painted black. Certainly not alloys :)

umm..... is this where i'm supposed to chime in? :)

I just got some new Kuhmo ASX 205/55/R16 which are the same "size" as the old RE92's which did fit fine on my FWD. The Kuhmo's seem a little wider than the potenzas though, so i'm having issues with rubbing on the spring perch again. (hopefully I will have those taken care of by the end of today.) :?

It all depends on who makes the 205/55R16 in question.

You guys haven't seen my Legacy yet , its two tone gold, it really sits high like an Outback for some reason (more so than the other Legacy wagons of the same age) and even moving fast it looks like its parked.

This was taken when I first bought the car back in 2001. You can slide underneath to change the oil without raising the car.

Of course, what's a Subaru if you can't get it dirty. This was "by accident" , I got lost in heavy rain going through a development in contruction and ended up on a muddy flat where only CATS with full tracks were moving. Spent 30 mins in the wash bay spraying off all the mud.

And as much as its not a "performance" car I have done well competing with it. I did a seaon of Solo II type competition in the winter and beat out WRX's & Audi Quatrros

Here's a pic from an Audi rallye I joined. They laughed at my car until the roads got really rough. Then, I was the only one not bottoming out at full speed. Maybe its the corner but the suspension is really hunkering down in this shot. A far cry from the 4x4 look when its parked

Am I seeing things or do you have velour interior? I thought all LSi's had Leather?

Should work. I run 215-45-16 on my legacy in the summer, not sure what I'll run on the RS rims this winter yet. And my car is lowered via H&R springs.
