i had my box rebuilt after a few problems with poor conedtions on the wiring plugs i now have no fault codes but what happens is the upshifts are too early and does not disengage drive when i stop and it stalls the engine any ideas!

Stalling the engine means the TC is still locked, could be mechanical. You could try to disconnect the lead that controls lockup.
When you say you had your box rebuilt do you mean the transmission?

It almost sounds like what would happen if the TCU always thought the car was moving a little faster than it really was... It would shift early because the TCU thinks it's already fast enough to shift, and it would stall because the TCU wouldn't realize the car was going slow enough to stall, and so leaves the torque converter locked up.
That would be very weird, though, because there are two separate vehicle speed sensors. It would be unusual if both malfunctioned the same way, and it would be unusual if the TCU didn't get mad if they were reading different speeds. Are you getting any blinking POWER lights or anything?
Who did the rebuild? Maybe you could ask them if they did anything to the driven gear for the speedometer.

the transmission was worn out all the clutchs were worn to the metal and the brake band as well there was no lock up on the torque converter, it now works good apart from this problem theres no fault codes if i disconect either sensor 1 or 2, it gives me a code and if i drive it with either or both disconected it still has the problem! if i manually select 1st gear when i stop it does not stall the engine, if i disconect the rear sensor the upsifts are a little higher but it still stalls when i try to stop, the TPS is tested ok and adjusted to spec

It sounds like lock-up issue. If you had a select monitor or if you take it to the dealer, you could determine what the duty cylce % was on the lockup solenoid.
Only other thought is the brake band is not adjusted properly. You may want to check that.

i drove the car with the TCU disconected that like limp mode i drives in3rd gear only, i pulled the TCU out and looked a the board and components it looks good not even a hot spot, is the TCU a standard across the range! mines a 91 turbo if i could find one at the breakers maybe if might be at fault
of is it work taking it to a dealers se if they can diagnoes the fault?
