It's not until like 94 or around there, they did away with them. I like them for every day driving. The normal ones hold you in the seat better......but in my case......I need a new seat.....my driver's seat is toast.

im pretty sure all of the bc bf in the usa had auto belts. i just got ride of mine for the height adjustable ones like the over sea legacys. with my auto belts i was getting in the habit of not putting the lap belt on. you can sort of see them in this pic-

hey homeslice, how difficult was the install? What was the cost to convert? I need to replace my front seat belts and this might be an option.

the install was pretty straight forward. all the holes where there. i did have to drill two holes for the seat belt anchor thats about it. i got the belts of my parts car from canada.

Hi group!
I'd like to do this too.
Other than the belt assembly, what else is needed? Would I need do replace the pillar trim where the belts attach? What about the part you click the belt into?
Anyone up in Canada willing to get/sell me the necessary parts? If I get them, I would have some auto belts for sell/trade.
Thanks.

Why do you all want rid of them so bad???
I find them very convenient, and I also appreciate the little discount my insurance gives me for having them

someone actually likes the automatic belts?
at least ours don't run on a track on the top of the door - those were nice for ejecting you if the door failed in a collision
I'd like to see pics of the install / swap, I'd easily invest in this especially if my auto belts ever quit.
btw some yards won't sell used seatbelts => liability, probably not an issue in canada
