i have a funny feeling that my turbo is leaking oil and coolant form the suply lines. im hopefuly getting a vf39 but when i put it in i want to change the suply lines. should i just order oem ones or rerun new universal lines. and for you 16g guys did you use new lines or just the stock ones that are on there?

I used the stock oil banjo line, and I used the coolant banjo lines that came on the 16G (I flipped the top one around and moved the bottom one a bit).

I replaced the upper coolant hose from the resivoir because mine wasn't long enough.

So to answer your question, no. I used the stock oil supply hardline, and I used the coolant lines from the 16G.

I don't have any coolant or oil leaks, so I'm OK.

I used my old OEM oil lines. My coolant lines were all new. I have no leaks, I thought my oil feed line was leaking when I first installed my turbo but it hasn't in a long time. I think there was some dirt that worked it's way out when it was leaking and then the washer finally seated down flush and sealed. I did blow my coolant return line shortly after install but just reran it with new and it's been gopod since.

Matt - Why did you need new coolant lines? Didn't it come with the coolant lines? I just flipped my upper coolant line around.

what do you use for the rubber (or whatever their made out of ) lines that go from the coolant resivoir and the oil pan (i think its the oil pan)

Nothing goes from the coolant resivoir to the oil pan.

Replace the coolant hoses with heater hose.

Haha, no the turbo came with new coolant lines because it was a new turbo. That's all I meant.

There's 3 hoses. The one from the coolant tank (coolant feeder line), the one that comes off the side and goes to the head on the passenger side (coolant return line) and the one that comes straight down off the bottom (oil return line). They are all 1/2" and can be replaced with 1/2" heater hose. That or you can go to Subaru and order the parts that will be form fitted. They'll rape you though on price.

You used a piece of 1/2" heater hose for the oil return line? The parts manual says the stock part is a 15mm hose, so I'd think 19/32" or 5/8" would match up more closely. I haven't looked at the fitting myself though.

But I'd be kind of wary about using heater hose... that oil could be really really hot, and most heater hose is only rated up to like 250 degrees Fahrenheit. My brother and I wrestled with the issue when looking for hose for the oil drain on his turbo. 'Course, we did end up using high-grade heater hose and just pulling it off every few thousand miles to inspect it and it did seem okay.

The OEM oil drain hose is part number 807515712, and lists for ten bucks, which is expensive but not ridiculously so...

No, I didn't actually replace mine. I thought it was the same size as the coolant lines but I didn't look at it that close. I'm sure you're right.

shouldnt there be a oil feeder line too?

That's the all metal one with banjo bolts on each end. One end on top of the turbo and one end going to the back of the passneger side head. Now that's an expensive part! The local Scube shop here wanted $110 for it IIRC. My OEM one is working just fine for me, thank you.

Wow, glad i didnt mess that part up tho i've wasted more than enough money on replacement windows to make up for it.
