Dumbasses

I must say I'm in one of my more cantankerous moods today. I blame it mostly on work. However I might be able to contribute it slightly to the fact I did get up at my alarm set time, instead of snoozing for 45 minutes like I have normally been doing lately. Damn having to pee so bad you can't sleep any more!
Anyway, that wasn't so bad. Plus I found out yesterday I did buy the extended warranty on the Ionic breeze GP I bought from sharper image a year ago, which allows me to swap it out for the newer model. So I was all pumped about that.
Then as soon as I got to work....and actually started doing work stuff, it just hits....
Whether you would like me to or not......allow me to elaborate. We'll start with the current task I have been asked to do with very little direction or support. I am supposed to fill out a requisition so we can order some pressure relief valves from this vendor. To do that, I need to have the vendor size the valve to our operating conditions. I've already done the calculations, which is another story...maybe later. We supposedly have a data sheet that we fill out to give to the vendor. Well I have two different ones. One is "partially" filled out, the other is blank. I was going to use the partially filled out one as an example, but it is for a different type of pressure relieving setup. So the parameters are different, or so I think.
At this point I call one of the engineers who used to work in my group. He said there are two different data sheets the company uses. He said he would get them down to me. I have yet to see them, or know if they are the same ones I have. I decided rather then continue to piss myself off, I'd go take an HP/PO run to the GALL with my buddy at work and swap out the Ionic breeze.
Side note: My buddy and I have made up our own daily acronyms for our mall runs.
HP: Hoochie potential aka hottie you wish was in your bed
PO: Post Office
GALL: Galleria mall.
There are one or two more, but those are the pertinent ones for this conversation.
So we go over the galleria....do our business, and head back. I was figuring there'd be something on my desk regarding a data sheet. Nope.
So I decided, I call the vendor, and ask him for their data sheet, so I know exactly what they want. I talk to the guy, gave him my email address, and he said it was off. That was probably 40 minutes ago. More then likely the dumb ass spelled my name wrong or mis-typed the email. There lies a partial root of my cantankerousness today. Out of the past 4 vendors I've contacted and asked to email me something 3 of them mispelled something in my email address. The first one mispelled my name. The second one mispelled the name of my company, and who the hell knows what the dumb ass today did.
The other part of my wonderful mood today is probably associated with the fact I'm supposed to fill something out that I have never done before, have no example of how to fill out, and get very little feedback on what needs to be on their, other then "..just fill out your operating parameters and stuff..." Mind you, not everything on the sheet needs to be filled out, and I'm not exactly sure what is pertinent to how I need the relief valves sized.
If you want me to do something, show me how to fucking do it. Even if it's only once, at least I'd have an example to reference back to if I had questions, and couldn't find some dumbass to not answer them for me.
So maybe, just possibly I might actually get the data sheet filled out today. I will probably feud over it for a little bit more I think. There may also be another HP run...we'll see.
I blame the idiots at my company. What could have been done in an hour tops had they given me the proper instructions/procedure will/has taken half a day or more.....
