Ganging up on somebody isn't cool especially when you have a weapon and they don't. I remember highschool in nebraska, there were a lot of fights like that only way more people involved. I stopped hanging out with some of my friends because everytime we went somewhere a large brawl would break out. Last one there were around 25 people fighting and alot of them had baseball bats. It's stupid how people feel the need to start shit.

That's one of the many things I liked about Italy - they don't have the insecure macho-man attitude so many Americans have. Must be all the hot Italian women around and less time wasted working.

I don't understand stuff like this. I don't understand what could possibly start a fight at a stupid-ass car meet??

If people are starting fights about cars, then they're automatically ricers. The fundamental essence of true automotive enthusiasm is to enjoy what you yourself have and to respect what everyone else has.

There are no women worth fighting for at a car meet if you ask me, they're all just a bunch of whores who've probably been with every guy at the meet anyway.

Seriously, I just hang out with my car friends now. Even when I go to a Subaru meet here locally, I'm practically ignored because I don't have a WRX or STi. But even then, I don't go picking fights with people because they're not paying attention to me.

I've never been to a show with ricers. I go to vintage events, race tracks, concours, and general/domestic shows; you know, places where people have a little class and actually care about cars, not falsely extending their small one-pump-chump penis.

That reminds me, we have a concours d'elegance in town this weekend, and I already know a few things that will be there.

Some lucky old geezer has not one, but TWO Jaguar XJ220's, one burgundy and one silver. He's probably a bigger Jaguar guy than I am a Subaru guy. Now get this, I'd almost be willing to bet money that he recognizes me if he's there this time, because I'm the only person my age that can actually have a decent conversation with him on the car

Even at those shows, you'd be surprised how many idiots they have there. The last one, I had to rub my eyes. There before me was a Bugatti EB110S, that's right, the one with 4 turbos. I was literally stuck in my own tracks, I didn't want to look at anything else. I studied every inch of that car. But what was so shocking to me was that people were walking right by this car to go look at a Saleen S7

I'll try to take pics this time and post them, they have everything from vintage Alfas to Ferrari Enzos. It's one of my favorite shows of the year.

Amelia Island?

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the S7. Yeah another supercar. Whoopie. It brought nothing new to the table. The Pagani Zonda on the other hand ... And I thought I got over supercar lust when I was a kid. It didn't hurt that they had some hot Italian chicks handing out the brochures. I don't know what it is about Italian and Cambodian women ... Ahem, anyway, my favorite Jag is the XKSS. The D-Type is perhaps more simply perfect in shape, but I like the little imperfections, if you will, of the road version. The favorite cars I've seen are the 250 GTO, California Spider (closed headlights), Stanley Steamer Vanderbilt Cup, and Bugatti 57SC Atlantic.

My personal fave Jag is the XK120. I thought it was so cool that one of the most beautiful cars of its time was also the fastest of its time.

As much as I enjoy modern conveniences, I'd like to own one and drive something of that era, in which not just anyone could hop in and drive it, you have to have skill and knowledge of the car just to drive it.

I worked under the table for a guy for a while keeping his old cars in a reasonable shape. This was the same guy that lent me the money for my XT. In his collection were a ~48 Willys Jeepster, a `63 Nash Metropolitan, and a `63 Willys Wagon. I didn't have anything special for any of them, but the Jeepster was in magnificent condition, except for the plumes of blue smoke that came out its tailpipe . I got a chance to drive it around once, and while I didn't have any trouble, it was nothing like driving a modern car. Since there was no power brakes, you really had to anticipate what you were going to do ahead of time. The three-on-the-tree had no synchromesh, so shifting gears was a delicate procedure, and downshifting was a downright no-no and I wasn't that good at double-clutching yet. But I got so much attention from that car it was scary, and to really learn how to drive without any modern crutches was a lesson well-learned.

One of my old roommates would love that collection. He was an orphan nut! He had a '58 DeSoto and an AMC Eagle. His dream car was a Gremliin X (I can't make this shit up). I doubt he made it through the transportation design program. Last I knew he was going to use his mint AMC to restore this old Subaru Brat-like AMC Eagle showcar (we found it in a dirt lot with some crap fifties Packards) that was supposed to have been destroyed if he could get it from the owner.

XK120 is my second fav Jag, 3rd is the C-type.
