Not Subarus. I work at Pep Boys that shares a lot with a big carwash and nearly all we get is Hispanics stopping in or racing by on the main drag. Not one with a Subaru. 99% Hondas and the rest divided among assorted old Japanese cars, mostly Toyota. A guy who works there has a Camry that looks just like an Accord from the front and he's think of putting Accord taillights on it (!?). He's a nice guy, but I think I'm the only one there that really knows anything about performance.

I am so sick of fart cans and blasting Spanish music. I hope I quit that job and get something better before I finish the car as otherwise I'll go on a Honda hunt. Hell, I could kill most of them now. A guy at work with a 93 Accord told me my car is fast when we left work at the same time. I was just driving normally. An 8:1 CR 2.2 litre wagon is fast?

Seriously, my friend and I ask each other if everyone is listening to the same freekin CD, because all that reggatone shit all sounds the same to me

The trend down here is to pick the ugliest and crappiest Toyota Corolla out of the junkyard that you can, put extremely skinny tires on the front and extremely wide tires on the back, so the car looks like a drag car as it runs a 23-second quarter, and you have to have the Puerto Rican flag hanging from your rearview mirror, you have to have your fat ugly bitch who's the mama of your 5 kids piled into this POS listening to that same irritating beat over and over again...

How thw hell did this crap become the fashion?!

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Don't forget the baseball cap twisted and contorted every way except straight forward and the necklace so long that whatever bling that hangs off of it hits them in their nutsack, which doesn't seem to hurt them for some reason

I was a dumb kid once, I'll confess. I wore my pants down below my ass when I was in middle school, but that was because my grandmother (who I actually commend for this now) didn't let me buy pants that were 50 times too big for me. But I wouldn't be caught dead wearing my pants like that now...

So what the hell does off the hook mean? I was ranting about an idiot customer at work and was told I was 'off the hook'. A term also used to describe Pulp Fiction and some action movies I didn't see.

They can probably be interchanged, I've heard both used to describe something which impresses someone.

Strange how my Mexican neighbors downstairs drive a beat up shitty Prelude and two. . . TWO Dodge minivans. . . .

. . . they ALL look like Mexicans drive them, though. There's just something about little playing cards with pictures of the Virgin Mary taped to the front windows of a minivan that give it away.

There are 6 Mexicans who jointly own a Lincoln Navigator. They aren't related at all, they are just 6 random mexicans who own a done-up Navigator with TV's, ICE, and BLING.

It's a shame, really it is.

Most of them rock the Corolla/tercel/oldschool accord or civic.

Shut this thread down. Racism is racism, enough said.

Generalizations, not racism. There IS a difference. Racism would denote a negative tone. Saying that most of the local mexicans drive a specific type of vehicle is a trend. Saying that most of the local mexicans, I dunno, insert a random racist comment based on job here, that would be racism.

You could say "white people mostly drive Nissan pathfinders" or "People with blonde hair mostly drive Altimas"

It just happens to be a generalization based on race. Certaintly not ALL mexican people drive xxxx vehicle, but there are trends. Demographics.

Insurance is based SOLELY on this type of information (age and sex mostly).

It's no different than saying "people under 25 will get in an accident."

That's not ALWAYS true, but it's based on a trend.

Phil's right. . . just observations. . .

Most rednecks don't drive imports. . . does that mean I'm anti-redneck? Not necessarily. . .but you don't see too many cowboys driving Civics. ;)

Oh, but in Utah you do! they gather around in abandoned lots, crank up the rap, and sit on their roofs, wearing cowboy duds. It's hilarious!!!!

Racism (american heritage ditionary)

The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.

Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

Prejudice

An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.

A preconceived preference or idea.

The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions. See Synonyms at predilection.

Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion.

Detriment or injury caused to a person by the preconceived, unfavorable
conviction of another or others.

This is all based on observations. The word spic has a negative conotation though and that kind of borders on rude and is a racially derived word. Would you walk up to a mexican guy and call him a spic?

Thats true it would be really rude, I think he was referring to what the other people called it tho and not referring directly of his own opinion on what latinos should be called. My Grandma on my mom's side is meztiso but it doesnt show in me at all.

Not being racist, and tyring to make this sound as PC as possible. I do notice that most of the older legacys I see are driven by hispanics or african americans. Just an observation.

I've never seen an older Legacy driven by a hispanic or an african american. Most Legacy drivers I see are middle-aged white folks.

Yeh, I've never seen anybody other than a white person driving a subaru. Well some of the hippies are kinda dirty and could be confused as something else...
